تبیین ماهیت و ضرورت درک عامه از علم

چکیده
در این مطالعه درک عامه از علم و لزوم ارتقای آن به مثابه یکی از کارکردهای علم بررسی شده است و همگانی کردن علم که در کشور ایران عمدتاً با نام ترویج علم شناخته می شود، ابزار لازم برای بالابردن درک عامه از علم معرفی شده است. در این مقاله توضیح داده شده است که برای بالابردن درک عامه از علم، تأسیس نهاد یا نظام همگانی کردن علم ضروری است. بدین ترتیب، در این مقاله ویژگیهای نهاد یا نظام همگانی کردن علم برای برقراری ارتباط بین حوزه علم و حوزه عمومی و در نتیجه، تغییر میزان درک عامه از علم تبیین و برای این منظور ماهیت درک عامه از علم شرح داده شده است. در این مطالعه دلایل همگانی کردن و ارتقای درک عامه از علم با توجه به سطح توسعه یافتگی و نوع نظام سیاسی جوامع تبیین شده است. همچنین، در این مقاله بیان شده است که همگانی کردن علم و تولید علم عمومی می تواند به شکل گیری بین رشته ایها، کاربردی شدن علوم و ارتباط هر چه بیشتر رشته های علمی با یکدیگر و نیز دانشگاه و صنعت منجر شود. از سوی دیگر، علم عمومی با معرفی فرصتهای مشارکت در انجمنهای علمی موجب رشد جامعه پذیری و افزایش سرمایه اجتماعی تحصیل کردگان ایرانی می شود.On the essence and necessity of public understanding of science
This article discusses public understanding of science and the need for its increase and expansion as a function of public communication of science. In this study popularization of science is presented as a means for increasing Public Understanding of Science (PUS). In this article we argue that institutionalization for public communication of science is an urgent need for increasing PUS and we provide characteristics of the institute or system of science popularization for connecting the science community and the public sphere. Our study offers the reasons of science popularization and increasing of PUS with regard to the level of the development and the type of political system of societies. Also, this article explains how popularizing of science and production of popular science can lead to the formation of interdisciplinary sciences, relation between various scientific disciplines and university-industry connections. On the other hand, popular science introduces opportunities of engagement in the scientific societies and hence increases the social capital between Iranian elite.
