In recent years a great number of books have appeared in various fields of ESP، and the number is increasing every year. These books are specially prepared and adapted for foreign students possessing varying degrees of language skills. Experts believe that the production of ESP books is a vital task that requires several stages and procedures. To produce these materials، special attention should be paid to the age of the learners their English background، their level of knowledge in specialist field and the teaching method. The best should be done to provide materials which enable the learners to increase their English proficiency، learn the required skills for communication، and achieve their terminal behavior. Since the majority of university graduates in Iran are not equipped with sufficient knowledge of English to read and understand the original specialized textbooks، this paper aimed to test the appropriateness of materials used in ESP classes، based on a study conducted at Chabahar Maritime University. The finding of this research rejected the null hypothesis، because the observed t. was 2.83 and the value of critical t.’ with the 49 degrees of freedom at the .05 level was 2، and this signifies that the novel content based texts motivated the students and improved their English proficiency.

The normativity of mental content thesis appears to have been the most influential in contemporary philosophy of mind. Paul Boghossian (2003, 2005) has developed an argument for the normativity of mental content on the basis of two premises, i.e. firstly, the normativity of the notion of belief and secondly, the priority of the notion of belief to the notion of desire. In his recent article Alexander Miller (2008) has criticised Boghossian’s argument for the normativity of mental content. To make the objection against the normativity of content, Miller has argued that the second premise of Boghossian’s argument is since belief and desire are conceptually interdependent. My purpose in this paper is to show that content normativity thesis prevails Miller's attack. In order to establish the claim I will argue that content is normative even if belief and desire are conceptually interdependent.

Abstract The present study aimed to design a curriculum pattern on the basis of critical thinking and its use among the undergraduate students of Isfahan University. This research is applied in terms of purpose using a mixed method in data collection. The research method in the qualitative part is content analysis and the tool used to collect data was note-taking. As the statistical population of this study, in the qualitative section, of all written sources gathered by targeted sampling method, only critical- thinking related sources were selected as the research samples. In the quantitative part, the research method was descriptive-survey and the tool was a researcher-made questionnaire whose content validity was examined by experts and its reliability using Cronbach's alpha was 0.94. The statistical population in this section included the faculty members of the University of Isfahan, and based on Morgan and Krejcie tables, 230 of them were selected by sampling method appropriate to the size of the statistical population. According to the results of this study in the qualitative part, the characteristics of the elements of the curriculum model based on critical thinking were extracted and in the quantitative part the results showed that the curriculum model on the basis of critical thinking is used by faculty members among undergraduate students.

One of the main concerns of scholars is the observance of intellectual property rights in the production of knowledge content. Data and knowledge derived from the results of research need to be produced based on ethical issues in order to provide context for solving problems through innovation, scientific accuracy and relevance on the basis of ethical principles. In this research, the intelligent knowledge audit model was designed for Islamic Azad University. The present research is applied and in the first stage due to the recognition of the dimensions of the model, is exploratory, in the second phase, the comparative study of the selected models, and in the third stage is analytical. The data gathering tool were a researcher-made questionnaire and interview. In the present research, a questionnaire was distributed through a sample of 205 professors and PhD candidates in the field of information technology management. The questionnaire was analyzed using structural equation modeling, and the conformity between the independent variables and the dependent variable was presented. In the following, a comparative study of the selected models was performed and after analyzing the interviews with the experts, the final model was designed. As a result, the use of structural and semantic analysis methods in sequence can lead to the prevention of repetitive content. This is heavily needed in order to achieve a systematic ethical responsibility.

Specifically, we explore a structure of significant learning with application to CBIR assignments with a wide game plan of definite examinations by investigating front line significant learning methodologies for CBIR endeavors under moved settings. From our exploratory examinations, we find some encouraging results and compress some huge bits of information for upcoming research.

The article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of peculiarities of the content types, which can be placed in social media and Ukrainian Internet media, its differences, types of manipulation, and methods of prevention, perception, and distribution of unreliable information, determination of difference between fact and judgment. The article also analyzes the statistics of social media usage in Ukraine and around the world, using Facebook as an example. Various kinds and types of media existing on the Internet and traditional, conducted a survey of the most popular content using the Starch method, it was possible to identify how a person perceives one content that is placed on different media. The relationship between content type and media type is established. The phenomenon of information restriction, arising as a result of modern algorithms embedded in the Internet companies and social media, their positive and negative aspects and why, therefore, we are deprived of a choice among a wide range of other topics, and learning some other points of view was considered. Examining the origin and meaning of the "Information Bubble" term, the authors propose to use a different term, "Membrane of Relevance", which, in their opinion, is more relevant to the essence of the said concept. The authors propose to use a taxonomy method to determine the impact of content on a particular type of media, which will greatly simplify the content analysis process.

Investigating the degree of attention to the environmental crisis in the content of elementary school textbooks(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the level of attention to the environmental crisis issue in elementary school textbooks. The method is Shannon entropy. The unit of analysis contains texts, activities, and images that 3961 pages were totally reviewed. The statistical population consisted of elementary school books and all of them were selected as samples. The components and indicators of the environmental crisis were extracted from documents and earlier sources and checked out in the books. The research content validity was obtained using CVR which was 0.90 and confirmed, and the reliability was 0.98 based on the agreement coefficient. Findings have shown that in elementary books, a total of 68 cases were referred to the environmental crisis; 19 cases were related to the soil crisis, 18 cases were related to water, 18 of them were related to noise crisis and 13 subjects were related to air crisis. Also, the highest coefficient of importance was related to the soil crisis component (0.411) and the lowest coefficient of importance was related to the air crisis component (0.204). Among the textbooks; science books dealt with the environmental crisis more than any other book. In the next place were the Farsi books (reading) and finally the social studies books. No other cases for the attention to the environmental crisis were observed in the other elementary school textbooks.

Teachers’ Perception Towards Differentiated Instruction Approach in Secondary Schools of Namangan City

The study investigates English language teachers’ beliefs and perceptions in understanding the notion of differentiated instruction strategy in secondary schools in Uzbekistan. To achieve this, the researchers designed a questionnaire consisting of 3 parts, a question list for semi-structured interviews and an unstructured observation sheet. The instruments were used after having verified their validity and reliability. Our teachers participated in the research who took the questionnaires, 20 sub-samples were interviewed and 10 of them volunteered to conduct the classes per 2 observations, that is 20 observations in total. The results indicate that teachers have different points of view on differentiated instruction strategies based on their experience.  There was a big difference among questionnaire and interview responses compared to what was observed in classes in terms of applying elements of Differentiated Instruction such as Content and Process. The analyses of data show that being familiar with DI is statistically significant toward the age, working experience, and grade currently teaching. The study recommends organizing workshops for language teachers to train them to differentiate instructions and increase their awareness of the strategies of differentiation along with organizing lesson observation of those teachers who already implement differentiated instructions in their classes.

Interpreting Contents in Social Network using Some Generic Rules with Abstract Propositions(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Content interpretation is a cognitive ability which is mostly concerned with understanding the intention of the person who has created or narrated the content.  Narrator is also important since his/ her specific intention, which is inevitable in media like a social network, may change the reality of a created content. Here, the focal point is a sort of transformation with the aim of yielding the class of a message behind the content. In this paper, we propose a rule-based framework for interpreting contents in a social network that has the ability to perform such a transformation through using some generic rules with propositions at high abstraction level. The reason for selecting abstract propositions is their ability in covering wide range of facts occurring in the real world situation. Our suggested framework is in reality able to determine the class of a message indicating the possible intention of either a content’s creator or its narrator, such as whether a narrator is seeking honesty/justice toward the others, is after respect for the people, cares for compassion/ mercy, emphasizes a significance of knowing/ thinking in life, or is after self-upgradation to conduct a healthy life. These classes of message are determined according to both philosophical and psychological aspects which do exist behind the cognitive, emotional and ethical faculties in human being. Results of some experiments show that the generic rules proposed in this paper, which are structured on the ground of abstract propositions, have enough ability to respond successfully to the issue of interpretation in a social network with the characteristics already mentioned. Also, these results approve the fact that such an abstraction is able enough to handle the possible facts hidden in the contents showing up in social network.

The Relationship between Selective Attention and Simultaneous Interpreting Performance in Undergraduate Students of Translation(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Complexity of simultaneous interpreting has long attracted the interest of researchers and led them to explore different linguistic, psychological, cognitive, social, and neurological factors involved in enabling the human mind to perform such a difficult task. Within the framework of cognitive studies of interpreting, the authors of this study aimed at exploring the relationship between selective attention and interpreting performance of undergraduate students of Translation. Interpreting performance was evaluated in terms of content and presentation. A sample of 72 BA students participated in the study and completed a simultaneous interpreting and a selective attention task. Quantitative analysis of the data obtained from the participants led to the conclusion that selective attention had a direct relationship with both content and presentation of simultaneous interpreting performance in the sample as significant correlation was found to exist between the variables. The findings suggest that students with better selective attention are likely to perform better in interpreting tasks, especially in terms of the content of their performance which is concerned with completeness and accuracy of informational content of the interpreted message.

آسیب شناسی گفتمان آمایش در ایران (چرا آمایش در ایران به گفتمان تبدیل نشده است؟)(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

از ابتدای دهه ۵۰ هجری شمسی که اصطلاح آمایش سرزمین در ادبیات برنامه ریزی ایران مطرح شد، علی رغم گذشت بیش از نیم قرن تاکنون مقوله آمایش نه در سطح نظام تصمیم گیری و اجرا و نه در حوزه عمومی تبدیل به گفتمان نشده است. از این رو علی رغم ضرورت و اهمیت هیچ گاه مطالبه عمومی در زمینه آمایش سرزمین شکل نگرفته و حتی متأسفانه در حوزه های تخصصی نیز مطالبه توجه به رویکرد آمایشی، تقنین قوانین لازم و جریان پیدا کردن تدابیر اجرایی ذیل راهبردهای آمایشی ابراز نشده است. بنابراین در طول این نیم قرن فراز و فرودهای بسیاری در رابطه با آمایش سرزمین و نهادهای مرتبط مشاهده شده است؛ به گونه ای که توقف رویکرد آمایشی و تعطیلی نهادهای مرتبط هیچ انتقادی را برنینگیخته و توجه به راهبردها و تدوین سیاست ها بیشتر معطوف به سلیقه و خواست برخی مدیران و کارشناسان بوده است و نه در پاسخ به مطالبه ای عام یا خاص. توجه به ریشه های این وضعیت و آسیب شناسی و شناخت عوامل فرهنگی، مدیریتی، سیاسی، اقتصادی و اجتماعی دخیل در آن می تواند به رقم زدن فضای مطلوب و بسط و تعمیق گفتمان آمایشی به عنوان یک خرده گفتمان ذیل گفتمان پیشرفت در سپهر عمومی و در نظام برنامه ریزی بینجامد. شناسایی گره های موجود در مسیر گفتمان شدن رویکرد آمایش سرزمین و ارائه راهبردها و سیاست ها برای شکل گیری، بسط و تقویت گفتمان آمایشی در ایران و نهایتاً ارائه پیشنهادهای مشخص برای رعایت الزامات آمایش سرزمین در اجرای تدابیر سند الگوی اسلامی ایرانی پیشرفت هدف این مقاله است.

Content Analysis of Internationally Developed English Coursebooks: The Case of Summit 1a and Viewpoint 1

The growing interest in learning English language as an international language through international textbooks has necessitated the need for the evaluation of the cultural content embedded in English coursebooks. With regard to the close interrelation of language and culture, this study investigated the extent to which cultural aspects are represented in two international EFL textbooks. To this end, content analysis was used to analyze two commercial coursebooks (i.e., Summit 1a and Viewpoint 1), which are used in Iranian language institutes. The results of the directed content analysis revealed that two subcategories emerged from the content analysis (i.e., technology and environment), which were coded as an off-list category. Therefore, it was found that the reevaluation and extension of Stern’s (1993) framework for culture is necessary. Moreover, the results of the quantitative content analysis showed that there was not a balanced representation of cultural aspects in the selected coursebooks and the most frequent element was individual values in life. In addition, it was found that there was significant variation between the two coursebooks in the representation of culture. The study concluded that more in-depth investigation of cultural content is needed to develop cultural awareness of language learners. This study has implications for language material developers, language teachers, and language learners.
