حوزههای تخصصی:
حوزههای تخصصی:

Energy Economy Perspectives in Iran-Russia Relations after the Ukraine War(مقاله پژوهشی دانشگاه آزاد)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the ensuing war, Russia lost a significant portion of its gas market in Europe. This market had been a crucial tool for bargaining and exerting pres-sure on the West, and it also brought substantial economic benefits to Moscow. This was espe-cially true for gas exports to Germany, which had seen the construction of the Nord Stream pipe-line, with plans for Nord Stream 2 also underway before the war began, leading to the halting of both projects. Consequently, energy relations between Russia and Europe deteriorated. Following the Ukraine war, Europe was compelled to secure its gas supply from the United States, despite incurring significantly higher costs. Currently, the U.S. is the largest supplier of gas to Europe. This process led Russia to seek alternative markets for its gas exports. China and India, two ma-jor global consumers, are markets Russia is eager to capture. Currently, Russia is China's largest supplier of gas. Although a large gas pipeline already delivers Russian gas to China, Moscow isn't content with this alone and aims to diversify its methods of product delivery. Iran is a cru-cial option for Russia to transport gas, as it is close to India and can also meet some of China's needs. Furthermore, Russia is considering physically connecting its economic interests with the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, particularly the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Rus-sia believes that by doing so, it can establish a major gas economic bloc and become a counter-weight to competitors, especially the United States. From this perspective, it could be argued that the Iran-Russia gas pipeline is, in fact, a replacement for Nord Stream and could transform Iran into a regional energy hub. This article aims to explore the possibility of Iran becoming a region-al energy hub through economic cooperation with Russia in the energy sector, thoroughly exam-ining the opportunities and challenges involved. The research method employed was SWOT analysis.
The Influence of the Axis of Resistance on the Balance of Power in the Middle East 2002-2020(مقاله پژوهشی دانشگاه آزاد)
حوزههای تخصصی:
The axis of resistance, which consists of Iran, Syria, Lebanon's Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces, and Yemen's Ansarullah Movement, is known as one of the most influential powers in the region. The expansion of the axis of re-sistance provided many benefits and opportunities for the Islamic Republic of Iran, among which was the deepening of the military and strategic geography of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the improvement of the internal and external power balance of this country. This research aims to investigate the impact of the axis of resistance on the balance of power in the Middle East region between 2002 and 2020, using the theoretical framework of the balance of power and neo-realist ideas and based on the descriptive-analytical method, and by using li-brary and internet resources, it tries to answer the question of how the axis of resistance has influenced the security (balance of power) of the Middle East during the years 2002 to 2020? The results show that the resistance axis by overcoming extremist and Salafist groups, and Western regional allies, including Turkey and Saudi Arabia, has led to the superiority of the balance of power in favor of the resistance axis from 2002 to 2020.
Analysis of Social Housing Policies in Iran Using Grounded Theory(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Housing is a fundamental human need, yet rapid urbanization and macroeconomic instability have intensified affordability pressures for low-income groups in Iran. This study employs a grounded theory (GT) qualitative design, based on expert interviews, to evaluate the effectiveness of major state-led initiatives, including the National Housing Plan, the Mehr Housing Project, and the Worker Housing Project. GT enables concepts and categories to emerge inductively from empirical evidence, providing a context-specific understanding of policy dynamics. Findings indicate persistent structural deficiencies: weak site selection, inadequate infrastructure and services, limited stakeholder participation, and insufficient attention to macroeconomic conditions. These shortcomings, together with the spatial concentration of disadvantaged groups, have undermined policy outcomes. In a comparative perspective, participatory models backed by sustainable finance and clear governance, such as Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), used in several developed countries, contrast with Iran's centralized approach. The study contributes to the housing policy literature by integrating interview-based evidence with international frameworks and by highlighting the need for multi-sectoral, transparent, and financially resilient strategies. Policy implications include strengthening inter-agency coordination and municipal roles, adopting mixed financing mechanisms, integrating infrastructure and services at the planning stage, and designing dispersion and inclusion measures to reduce socio-spatial segregation.
Rereading the 1990 Rudbar-Manjil Earthquake Recovery through Oral Historical Narratives(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

حوزههای تخصصی:
Iran is one of the most hazard-prone and vulnerable countries to disasters, with recurrent earthquakes causing severe human and economic losses. Yet, recovery has often been shaped by emergency-driven decisions, inadequate documentation, and weak institutional memory. The 1990 Rudbar-Manjil earthquake, the first major disaster to occur after the Islamic Revolution, marked a turning point in disaster management and reconstruction history. While significant, most existing studies have centered on official perspectives, overlooking the lived experiences of affected populations and practitioners. This study addresses that gap by revisiting the earthquake through oral history to preserve intangible heritage and extract lessons for future recovery. Using a qualitative approach, 63 semi-structured interviews were conducted with officials, decision-makers, and residents between July 2021 and February 2022. Purposive and snowball sampling were used to identify participants until data saturation was achieved. Transcriptions were systematically coded and thematically analyzed. This process produced a multi-perspective narrative of recovery, revealing both achievements and enduring challenges across institutional, social, and community dimensions. The Rudbar–Manjil case shows that durable disaster recovery depends on preparedness, effective governance, and community engagement. Preparedness requires pre-disaster frameworks and a process-oriented approach linking response and recovery. Strong governance relies on streamlined, transparent institutions, inter-agency coordination, and systematic information management. Embedding risk reduction throughout recovery ensures sustainability. Ultimately, community involvement is crucial: striking a balance between local participation and technical oversight enhances legitimacy and resilience. Addressing technical, institutional, and social dimensions together creates more effective and enduring recovery outcomes.
Parthian Earrings: Case Study Gold Earrings from the Jubon Site in Gilan (Iran)(مقاله پژوهشی دانشگاه آزاد)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Jewelry has been prevalent in human societies since ancient times. By studying these artifacts and analyzing the decorative styles and techniques employed in their creation, researchers can gain insights into the identities of the people who produced them. Archaeological excavations in Jubon cemetery in Gilan province have uncovered numerous Gurkani graves dating from the first millennium BC to the Sassanid period. Some of these graves were found gold earrings, now kept in the National Museum of Iran. This research aims to classify earrings found in the Juban cemetery and compare them with those from the North Caucasus to identify their manufacturing techniques and production workshops. The study employs a descriptive-analytical method with a comparative approach. The findings indicate that the earrings from the Jubon cemetery can be classified into two typological categories: The first type is gold earrings without precious stones and the second is gold earrings adorned with garnet decorations. The identified manufacturing techniques include relief, casting, hammering, inlaying, and wiring, which were prevalent among Greek and Scythian artisans during the Parthian period. The methods used in making Jubon earrings show similarities to earrings from the North Caucasus, but significant differences in the decoration of gold indicate local production.
Investigating the Impact of Hot and Dry Climate on the Type of Sky-lights in the Historical Houses of Kerman(مقاله پژوهشی دانشگاه آزاد)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Based on conducted studies, lighting in Iranian architecture is one of the fundamental and essential features, with skylights playing a crucial role as a primary architectural element. Architecture in different regions is adjusted according to climatic conditions to maximize comfort while also considering the use of local materials. Given this, the design and placement of lighting elements can vary based on geographic location. The aim of this research is to examine the skylights in Qajar-era houses in Kerman and to explore the relationship between climate and regional architecture, considering both lighting and temperature factors simultaneously. Thus, the research questions are as follows: What are the characteristics of the windows in the historical houses of Kerman? Was natural light considered a key element in Kerman’s houses? Were the variety of windows in these historical homes adjusted based on climatic conditions? To achieve this goal, we studied four Qajar-era houses in Kerman: Azimi House, Kazemi House, Dinyar House, and Vaziri House. The research method is applied in nature and employs a descriptive and correlational approach for data collection, utilizing both field studies and library resources. By measuring the skylights and analyzing their design and positioning, we concluded that in desert regions, skylights are designed with small dimensions and colored glass to not only prevent direct sunlight but also regulate the lighting of the space. Additionally, these skylights are placed one meter above the floor and with a depth of less than 10 meters, providing both aesthetic appeal and environmental comfort.
Spatial Analysis of Global Innovation Indicators in Selected Countries with Emphasis on Iran(مقاله پژوهشی دانشگاه آزاد)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Innovation is a central driver of competitiveness at both institutional and national levels and serves as one of the key stimuli for production. It plays a vital role for countries aiming to enhance their economic growth and prosperity. In this context, the assessment of innovation has become a prominent topic in scientometric studies in recent years. The need to consider existing international concepts and indicators, along with the necessity of adopting the most appropriate approach to understand a country's real position at the global level, are among the main reasons highlighting its importance. Accordingly, the present study aims to measure and analyze the spatial distribution patterns of global innovation indicators in selected countries, with a focus on Iran, during the period from 2015 to 2018. The research employs a combination of descriptive and analytical methods and is applied in nature. For data analysis, models such as Shannon Entropy, TOPSIS, Coefficient of Variation (C.V), Global Moran’s Spatial Autocorrelation, and ArcGIS software were used. The results of the study revealed that among the selected countries, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey ranked first to third with the highest TOPSIS scores of 0.861, 0.695, and 0.690, respectively. Iran, with a score of 0.630, was ranked fifth, while Yemen, with the lowest score of 0.028, was ranked last.
