Systematic review

The purpose of this study is to investigate and synthesize the trends and key findings of the studies related to gamification as a new method in the field of learning a Foreign language (LFL) over the past 11 years. Databases including Web of Science, ERIC, and Scopus were searched for this purpose, analyzing a total of 28 articles. The research methodology of this study was a systematic review. A content analysis method was used for analyzing the selected articles. Our findings found that after 2015, the use of gamification in LFL became popular among researchers, and the number of field studies increased rapidly over the past two years (2017–2018). Additionally, quantitative methods were found to be the most frequently used research methods regarding gamification in LFL studies. In the analyzed studies, vocabulary and grammar abilities were the most commonly investigated basic language skills. In addition, English language, Duolingo, high school, and feedback were the most commonly investigated Foreign language, gamified platform, education level, and gamification element for learning a new language in the reviewed articles. More analysis disclosed challenges, as well as advantages associated with using gamification in LFL. Furthermore, in studies examined concerning the effectiveness of using gamification in LFL, the results mainly pointed to the benefits of gamification based learning. The systematic review also provides valuable recommendations for future researches and practitioners.

The present study aimed to review the instruction of the L2 speech acts in English pragmatics in the Iranian context during the last two decades from 2000 to 2020. To this end, upon the completion of the study search, the retrieved articles were selected and analyzed based on the research domain. The results of our synthesis from 54 studies carried out on the instruction of the speech act not only reveal that pragmatics is amenable to instruction but also unfold that the most frequently instructed speech act is the speech act of request which has been conducted in 29 studies, while the least instructed speech act is invitation, used in only one study. Moreover, analyzing the data collection methods documented that Multiple-choice Discourse Completion Test (MDCT) is the most predominant method utilized in 36 papers during the last decades in English pragmatic instruction. With respect to the treatment types, it is illuminated that the most recurrent treatment type is explicit, implicit vs. control, followed by explicit vs. implicit, although other treatment types have been embarked on. As a final point, it is worth noting that 53 of the conducted studies utilized the quantitative method in their data analyses, whereas only one study implemented the qualitative method. The paper concludes with some avenues for further research.
A Systematic Review of Compliments among Iranian Persian Speakers: Past, Present, and Future Directions(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Compliments (Cs) and compliment responses have been a prevailing topic of study in pragmatics due to their pivotal role in effective intercultural and transcultural interactions. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of research on compliments in the Persian language conducted over almost about the past four decades. It summarizes key findings of compliments in the Persian language used by Iranian speakers of Persian, discusses the significance of these findings, and speculates the future directions of research on complimenting studies on Persian language. An extensive bibliographical search on studies on this particular area yielded a database of nine studies on Persian Cs for this systematic review. After a brief exploration of the background of compliment studies done by prominent scholars in other languages, we provide a working definition of compliments. We then examine studies to date of complimenting behavior in Persian, highlighting similarities and differences, and any emerging trends. We provide a synthesis of the research conducted in this area, the theoretical frameworks, and the methodologies used in different studies, including data collection and data analysis. Based on the review of previous studies, we speculate on some possible directions for future research in this area.

The aim of this paper is to develop the model of international networking. Based on purpose, this is a basic research. This study used a systematic review method to gather data for identifying, collecting and analyzing the different dimensions and components and the propositions related to international networking. The statistical population is all the research in the area of international networking, which covered by the Scopus database in the period of "open start date (not specified the start date) until the end of January 2021". The search date in this database is January 30, 2021. This research used keywords related to international networking terms in the "Title" and in the subject area of "Business, Management, and Accounting" and document type, limited to "Article" to identify the research on international networking. This search yielded 112 articles. In the following step, after reviewing the abstract of the above-mentioned articles and, applying other indicators, 47 articles remained. This research coded the components and dimensions of international networking in these articles, and classified them into three categories of antecedents, processes and consequences, and, finally, identified the gaps of the previous research on the concept of international networking as well as provided research suggestions for future researchers.
Efficacy of dual focus schema therapy in the treatment of people with substance use disorders comorbid with personality disorders(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

The rate of personality disorders among drug users is estimated to be up to 50%. The co-occurrence of personality disorders among drug users can potentially lead to increased symptom severity, resistance to treatment, and increased risk of relapse. Using the systematic review method, in the present study, the efficacy of the dual focus schema therapy (DFST) in the treatment of substance use disorders with personality disorders was investigated. Using two databases, namely ScienceDirect and noormags, five eligible articles were reviewed that evaluated the efficacy of dual focus schema therapy (DFST) using case study and randomized controlled trial (RCT). The results showed that despite the positive and promising therapeutic results in the two case studies, three RCT studies showed the least useful results for the efficacy of the dual focus schema therapy (DFST) and that the dual focus schema therapy (DFST) is not a more effective option compared to the other forms of intervention, and more accurate evaluation requires further RCTs
A Corpus-driven Scoping Systematic Review of Four Decades of Teacher Professional Development Research: Exploring Research Foci, Content Areas, Designs Methods and Trends(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

This study represents the findings of a systematic review (SR) of literature in the teacher professional development (TPD) domain to outline the research patterns through content examination of 199 research articles (RAs) in the area of TPD over the previous 40 years (1982 -2021). RAs were investigated and their research content areas, utilized research methods, data collection procedures, and findings were analyzed and coded. The broad investigation of the RAs showed a wide variety of themes that corresponded to 22 research areas. TPD program effects, TPD & technology, and TPD & Sociolinguistics were the most searched content areas. It was also found that the qualitative method with 52.26% of occurrences appeared to be the dominant research method used in RAs. Exploring data collection procedures, it was uncovered that interview, questionnaire and observation were the main data collection strategies utilized within the TPD RAs. Analyzing the findings, changes in teacher practices, attitudes and knowledge, learner achievements, and determining priorities for TPD programs were the most reported findings in TPD RAs. This corpus-driven SR underpins the notion that TPD makes a difference in altering teachers’ practices and attitudes and improves learner abilities if specific characteristics are taken into account in the planning and administration of TPD programs.

Extramarital relations are among the main problems in the relationships of married couples that can result in psychological disorders, tensions between couples, and even physical problems in the people involved. The risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS, is high among the people who have extramarital relations. A large number of studies have addressed this issue, but there is no consistency in the results, and no research has reviewed them systematically. This study aims to depict a comprehensive image of the relationship between extramarital relationships and contracting HIV/AIDS. This systematic review will be conducted using Pubmed, PsycINFO, MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, ProQuest, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, as well as the grey literature with no restriction regarding the language. All types of studies investigated the relationship between extramarital relations and HIV/AIDS will be included. The population of the study will be considered the people more than 18 years old with extramarital relationships in their lives at the time of research or before. Two independent reviewers will perform the study selection and data extraction. The assessment of the risk of bias will be implemented using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist. Publication bias will be assessed by funnel plots, Begg’s, and Egger’s tests. Heterogeneity will be evaluated using the I2 statistic and the χ2 test. Also, we will conduct subgroup analyses for the population and all Meta-analyses will be performed using Stata V.13 software. The findings will reveal a comprehensive picture of the relation between extramarital relationships and HIV/AIDS that can improve policy decisions, leading to a reduction and providing improved special services for individuals, couples, and families, and society who faced this problem.
A Systematic Review of Research on E-learning in Service Organizations (Non-academic institutions)

This study is practical in terms of its objectives, and this study aims to provide a comprehensive picture of the online teaching-learning process in Iranian service organizations (non-educational). This research methodology applied a quantitative approach in its data collection method. In the first part, using a systematic approach and documentary study, 870 related research about e-learning at non-academic organizations were identified. Then, formerly after being studied and analyzed based on the criteria such as the research title and abstract, finally, 32 cases were selected and analyzed. In order to determine the research validity have been used the instrument of the Basic Critical Appraisal Skills Program of Glyn et al. (2006) and to examine the reliability, the method of agreement between the two coders was used and confirmed at a kappa value of 731%. The results indicate that the most critical issues regarding the online teaching and learning system in non-academic organizations are the feasibility study and implementation of this method at the mentioned institutions. Furthermore, the systematic review findings also identified five critical challenges of the e-learning system. Therefore, the research results indicate that for implementing the online teaching-learning system, first, it is necessary to identify the challenges such as; challenges related to critical stakeholders, organization, pedagogy, technology, and support system.

The institution of the family has been attacked by various schools over the past few centuries. The formation of single-parent families, gay marriage, white marriage, etc., are the results of this invasion. In the meantime, it is "shyness" that can be the protector of the family in this cultural campaign. This article provides a systematic review of research in the field of hijab, chastity and modesty and its impact on the family in a positive light and the effects of cultural invasion in a negative light. In fact, the innovation of this research is the study of the effect of modesty as a strengthening element of the family, which has been neglected in most studies. Methods: In a search conducted in Persian and English index index banks, seven, 650 and 47 articles were found in SID, Magiran and Noormags databases, respectively. Out of 705 studies, 605 works were not conceptually related. After deleting them, 100 articles were analyzed and after studying the abstract and text of all these articles, 38 related articles were reviewed. Conclusion: The results of this study show that it is necessary to pay attention to upbringing and strengthening modesty as one of the basic factors in strengthening the family. This topic should be included in the research priorities of family researchers.
Narrative therapy, Applications, and Outcomes: A Systematic Review(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Introduction: Narrative therapy (NT) has a post-modern approach and assumes people as experts that construct their narratives. Aim: This study aims to provide a review of relevant literature from 1995 to 2021 on studies using narrative therapy, considering how to use it, the application of this approach, and its outcomes. Method: This study is a systematic review. According to this method, Web of Science and Scopus depositories was selected because they are acknowledged to contain high quality and high impact studies. Results: Results of this study show that some studies have not clarified how narrative therapy techniques were used and even have conventional outcomes. The others use one or both essential techniques, including externalizing and unique outcomes. Besides, some studies focus on meaning-making and changing discourses. Conclusion: As a result of this review study, studies that have used the essential techniques have increased the efficacy of this approach, including externalizing, unique outcomes, meaning-making, and changing discourses (focusing on language and construction).
A Framework to Evaluate Readiness for Blockchain Technology Implementation(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

In recent years, Blockchain technology has been recognized as one of the most important new technologies affecting businesses and society, with a very bright future ahead. This technology is known as one of the most critical technologies of industry 4. Given that Blockchain technology is a new concept, before implementing it, the organization must understand it and be prepared to accept it; otherwise, the organization will incur irreparable damages. The main purpose of this study is to provide a framework within which organizations can evaluate their readiness to implement Blockchain technology. For this purpose, after a library study and systematic literature review, this study provided the initial research framework using the meta-synthesis method. Finally, the Lawshe model was applied to validate the proposed framework for the organization's readiness to implement Blockchain technology. Based on the findings, the final established framework included seven main dimensions, including Blockchain-based business strategy, operations of a distributed system, culture, people in Blockchain decentralized network, decentralized governance, technology, and Blockchain-based product traceability. Besides, 37 main criteria affected these dimensions, which can help companies increase the level of Blockchain technology readiness. Finally, this framework was used to measure the readiness of an airline company. According to the results of the analysis, Blockchain-based business strategy, culture, and Blockchain-based product traceability showed a medium level of readiness. Moreover, none of the main dimensions of Blockchain technology readiness were sufficiently prepared in this case study. This paper suggests practical recommendations to improve the level of Blockchain technology readiness for the managers

This paper surveys recent publications on maritime logistics with a focus on blockchain capabilities. Maritime logistics plays an important role in global trade and an important part of the global economy depends on it. The growth of world trade has led to the creation of various systems that are prone to error and fraud, the current supply chain needs to connect and trust many intermediaries which not only increase abuse and errors but also it will increase cost and time in the chain. Hence, transparency and stability are highly demanded. On the other hand, with the onset of the fourth industrial revolution, a new approach called “blockchain” was introduced which can have very important applications in maritime logistics. As this novel technology is in its early stages of development, its applications in maritime logistics have not been specifically investigated. So, this paper takes a deep dive into blockchain technology capabilities for maritime logistics by reviewing relevant scientific journal papers since 2014. The paper also discusses and challenges the current operational paradigms and by categorizing efforts, provides a taxonomy of research topics in maritime logistics. Finally, the paper in addition to presenting challenges, identifies new avenues for academic research based on current trends and development.
Structural Equation Modeling in L2 Research: A Systematic Review

Structural equation modeling (SEM), as a flexible and versatile multivariate statistical technique, has been growingly used since its introduction in the 1970s. This article presents a methodological synthesis of the characteristics of the use of SEM in L2 research by examining the reporting practices in light of the current SEM literature to eventually provide some empirically grounded recommendations for future research. A total of 722 instances of SEM found in 145 empirical reports published in 16 leading L2 journals across two periods of 1981-2008 and 2009-2020 were systematically reviewed. Each study was coded for a wide range of analytic and reporting practices. The results indicate that despite the growing popularity of SEM in L2 research, there was a wide variation and inconsistency in its uses and reports within and across the two periods in regard to the underlying assumptions, variables and models, model specification and estimation, and fit statistics. Drawing on the current SEM literature, we will discuss the findings and research implications for future use and reporting of SEM in L2 research.
Identification of Gamification Components In Association With User`s Experience In The Services Of Digital Libraries(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

The present research has been done with a view to identifying gamification components in association with users' experience in the services of digital libraries. Typically, the research method has been a developmental and systematic review, and essentially an analytic one. The data collection was carried out based on three major components: gamification, user experience, and digital library services. 164 resources related to the three components have been found. After filtering the resources in three phases, 12 resources in the first phase and 41 resources in the second phase were omitted and the remainder exactly 37 resources which were more closely related to the gamification components in the interaction with the user`s experience of digital library services, were identified, ranked and analyzed. The Findings show that gamification elements for digital library services include: certificate, achievement, membership law, ranking, digital products, signs, status and position, money, lottery, the Boss game, reward, present, feedback, navigation pages, Avatar, score, badges, narratives, prizes and badges collections and finally the results arising from the investigation of these components and analysis of the conceptual connection among them, show that the use of gamification elements for any digital library services develop the components “dynamism” and “gamification stimulants” such as competitiveness, attractiveness, excitement, hopefulness, challenge, victory and, etc in the users and that ultimately leads to the utilization of digital library services and user`s satisfaction.

Background: Today, ethics is recognized as one of the most important variables in the success of organizations and the rule of professional ethics is able to significantly help the organization to reduce tensions and achieve goals, and therefore having professional ethics in organizations as a There is a competitive advantage. On the other hand, the role of ethics in actions and behaviors, in decisions and choices, and in attitudes and communications is important and decisive. If moral values are not internalized in a society and its organizations, neither the law nor the efforts and measures of the government nor any other tools and mechanisms will function. The purpose of this study was to review international scientific productions in the field of professional ethics of managers. Method: This study follows the interpretive paradigm and was conducted by systematic review method. Using the search terms defined in the web of science database in the title of the articles and in the period from 1955 to 2022, the published researches in the field of professional ethics of the managers were examined and the articles that meet the entry and exit criteria were selected and the case information The need to achieve the objectives of the research was extracted and scientifically researched using VOSviewer software version 1.6.11, which is software in the field of scientometrics. Conclusion: The most research on professional ethics of managers is related to 2019, and the United States, United Kingdom and Australia have the highest number of researches, respectively, and Iranian writers have the least contact with other countries
A Systematic Review of Digital Leisure in Iran(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

This descriptive research was conducted using the systematic review method to investigate the position of digital leisure in Iran. The statistical population of this study consisted of all the theses, dissertations, and articles published in Iran. After searching, screening, and the qualitative evaluation of the research studies, 283 research were selected for the study. A researcher-developed data collection form was used to review the studies. The results indicate that the process of the production and publication of research studies in the area of digital leisure goes back to 2001, and it has been in progress since then. 84% of these research studies were conducted in the 2010s. The geographical distribution of these studies includes 25 provinces across Iran. 66% were journal articles and the remaining 34% were in the form of theses. 77% of the research studies adopted the quantitative approach, while 23% were qualitative and mixed-method studies. The analysis and the interpretation of the findings showed that a large body of theoretical literature and the main concepts used in the research emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of digital leisure and its special application in sports, education, culture, social sciences, economy, entertainment, and psychology. As a result, all three groups of managers, producers, and researchers must approach this area more than ever before from an applied perspective for the proper utilization of the cultural, economic, educational, and athletic aspects of digital leisure.
Structural Equation Modeling of the Sources of EFL Teachers’ Self–Efficacy(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Self-efficacy, which is known as the teachers’ self-perception of their competence and abilities in doing specific tasks, has attracted considerable attention in teacher education. It is seen as the teacher’s belief in achieving specific outcomes for students in their teaching practices, but the main sources of EFL teachers’ self-efficacy have not been systematically explored in a single study. Therefore, this study set out to present a systematic review of the studies on EFL teachers’ self-efficacy. To this aim, a meta-analysis approach was employed to systematically review closely related papers from Elsevier, Google Scholar, and ERIC. The articles examined the sources of self-efficacy in a different context. Through precise screening, 13 papers were found to be eligible enough to be included in this study. Findings revealed that ‘Mastery Experiences’, ‘Vicarious Experiences’, ‘Social Persuasion and Support’, ‘Emotional and Physiological States’, ‘Language Proficiency’, ‘Intelligence’, ‘Teaching skills and experience’, ‘pre-service training courses’, and ‘professional development activities’ are the main sources of self-efficacy. The findings could be theoretically and practically significant to EFL teachers, teacher trainers, and researchers interested in teacher education.
Google Translate in Foreign Language Learning: A Systematic Review(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Thanks to the significant achievements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Translation (MT), in general, and Google Translate (GT), in particular, have been extensively used in all facets of life, including language learning. However, faced with a plethora of research evidence on GT’s educational contributions, erroneous translations create disparity regarding its use in language learning. To address this lacuna, the present study systematically reviewed 10 databases, namely, Web of Science, Scopus, ERIC, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis Online, Wiley Online Library, SAGE Journals, Springer Link, Springer Open, and DOAJ. Additionally, it hand searched the reference lists of 44 studies selected to be included in the synthesis from database search along with references cited in three previous systematic reviews on similar topics to capture a comprehensive view of the literature related to the use of GT in language learning between 2010-2021. It reviewed 50 studies witnessing a rise in the number of studies in this area. Studies reported that although significant improvements in the quality of GT led to pedagogical gains and more tendency to implement it in language learning, instructors still distrust it. Accordingly, this research provides pedagogical implications and suggests avenues for future research on the use of GT in language learning.
Psychological and Social Consequences of Divorce Emphasis on Children Well-Being: A Systematic Review(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Introduction: Awareness of the consequences of divorce can contribute to conducting effective interventions to reduce the extent of harm to couples taking divorce. To this end, the present study aimed to discover the consequences of divorce based on children well-being through a systematic review of previous studies in the literature. Data sources: Articles addressing the consequences of divorce during the last decade (2011 to 2021) were reviewed in SID, Noormags, Magiran, Ensani, Elsevier, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases. Study selection: All articles published in Persian and English on the consequences of divorce were reviewed. Out of 159 retrieved articles, 38 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed in this study. Results: Divorce consequences were classified into three categories: individual, family, and socio-cultural consequences. Individual consequences of divorce include physical and psychological consequences such as hypochondriasis, depression, anxiety, psychological distress, and aggression, and behavioral consequences are taking sedatives, alcohol and drugs, suppression of sexual instinct, and sexual marginalization. Furthermore, from a familial perspective, children, and paternal family members suffer many consequences. Poor academic achievement, aggression, anxiety, depression, and isolation in children and increased tension and conflict, blame and protest, involvement of others in the paternal family are among the family consequences of divorce. Socio-cultural consequences of divorce include the public negative attitudes, reduction of social relations, and feelings of alienation and financial problems were identified as economic consequences of divorce. Conclusion: Counseling and psychotherapy with couples and child's after divorce helping these them to reducing the negative prosocial consequences.
Resilience, Loneliness, and Impulsivity among Adolescents: A Systematic Review of the Literature(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Purpose: Individuals going through adolescence faced a significant number of changes from biological, and cognitive to social and emotional. Due to the changes experienced by adolescents, it is susceptible for adolescents to experience a high level of loneliness. The correlation between loneliness and impulsivity and the association between impulsivity and self-harm as well as self-injurious behaviors puts adolescents in a vulnerable position in performing undesirable acts or behaviors. On the other hand, resilience plays a significant role in an individual’s ability to cope with an adverse situation or bounce back quickly after the undesired situation in order to maintain or regain mental health. Therefore, the objective of this study is to run review research through contemporary studies to summarize accumulative documents in the area of resilience, loneliness, and impulsivity among adolescents to investigate the mediating role of resilience. Methodology: For this, a search was carried out on the Web of Science, Google Scholar, and PubMed. Thus, a set of keywords was used, followed by filtering main keywords, resulting in a review of 99 articles published a decade ago. Findings: The results demonstrated that the number of adolescents having mental illness increased significantly over the years, and adolescents aged 16 and above are at risk of mental disorders. Besides that, this research revealed that adolescents in Malaysia are at risk of peer and social rejection, which is highly associated with loneliness and also has a correlation with aggression and impulsivity. Conclusion: It was seen that loneliness and impulsivity are essential risk factors for adolescents’ mental health and resilience can consider effective cognitive and coping skills for adolescents. It was also perceived that most of the papers focus on the investigation of the correlation between loneliness, impulsivity, and resilience, being necessary to develop more experimental studies on the effectiveness of resilience therapy for adolescents’ enrichment. These results serve as a source of reference for future research.
