The need for a strong educational system is felt more than ever due to globalization. In this respect, teacher agency has an important role in educational change. This qualitative meta-study, therefore, addressed the attitude of the teachers towards agency and the way they enact agency to facilitate learning process. To this purpose, the needed data were gathered from the narrative of life, professional history and class observations of five English teachers in Iranian context. Then, based on the Grounded Theory Approach, the data were analyzed and the obtained results showed that teachers’ pre-teaching and during teaching processes were made up of complex relationships among different resources; that is, teachers’ life ideology (their perception towards themselves and their job) and financial status. At the same time, the results revealed that teachers’ instruction experiences highly affect both their magnification of agency and their decision-making processes. It was further seen that agency was not stable at all, meaning that social factors and environmental conditions played important roles in shaping teacher’s agency.

Architecture Students’ Understanding of Landscape Issues in Design Studios (A Comparison Approach in Some Tehran Architecture Schools)(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
Without the surrounding environment of a site, architecture loses its full meaning. In the evolution of the design process, a site's environment should be understood as the integral factor within which a designed product or artifact is expected to perform. The environment is not of secondary priority. Every building is intertwined with its context; context being its physical, visual and ecological potentials. Modern day practice encourages the consideration of ecological factors in any plan to create/alter sites even for those who are not landscape architects. In the pedagogy of Tehran architecture schools today, the architectural design process barely touches upon landscape environment; this is a flawed presentation of architecture which should be remedied. In common practice of Iranian education, buildings rise to represent only themselves. The graduates of this lacking method owe their mal-education to the problematic studio education system. This paper presents both qualitative and quantitative evidence to support the notion that Tehran schools should change their teaching methodology to accommodate the importance of environment in the architectural design process. All research participants are students of architecture. The data, which includes content analysis exports and log-linear analysis, presents the difference between the students' point of view regarding a designed building and its relationship with the surrounding landscape.

Iranian EFL Teachers’ Assessment Literacy Knowledge: The Impact of The Educational System on Teachers’ Classroom Assessment Practices
حوزه های تخصصی:
English language teachers’ assessment ability to assess all areas of pupils’ learning is important for comprehending how learners advance across the curriculum and guiding them in their development (Livingston & Hutchinson, 2016). The educational system of Iran decided to shift from traditional teaching methodologies toward communicative approaches. This conversion would not turn into reality unless teachers could apply it in practice. However, teachers have certain needs such as expanding and broadening contextual-related knowledge, cooperating with their colleagues, and developing their assessment literacy (Coombe, Vafadar, & Mohebbi, 2020). To identify the teachers’ understandings of, practices in, and challenges of assessment, 15 English language headteachers (English language teachers who are responsible for moderating the group of the teachers’ activities) participated in the interviews of this study, followed by questionnaires for exploring teachers’ needs. The interviews were coded and content analyzed independently by the researcher and an expert in assessment. The main themes and needs were derived from the interview analyses and are presented in eight pivots. The findings of the questionnaires manifested the priorities that teachers felt concerning assessment literacy and classroom-based assessment needs. The paper will discuss the findings concerning assisting teachers’ professional development in assessment literacy. Implications are also provided.

The purpose of this study is to provide a conceptual framework for the e-learning system of higher education institutions in the Iran, based on the views of experts related to the field of e-learning at the level of higher education institutions and prioritizing factors over each other. The present study is applied in terms of purpose; It is descriptive-exploratory in terms of how data is collected and qualitative in terms of the nature of the data. Accordingly, in order to collect qualitative data, after reviewing the literature related to the research topic, a framework was developed to ask questions of interviews with experts. Then, using purposive sampling method (snowball), the opinions of 15 experts up to the theoretical saturation stage were used. The interviews were coded using Clark and Brown six-step inductive theme analysis. Accordingly, the identified speech evidence from the interview text was labeled in the form of 53 initial codes. Then, the initial codes were drawn in the form of 12 sub-themes and then, three main themes including specialized requirements of e-education system, general requirements of e-education system, results and consequences of e-education system, classification and conceptual conceptual framework of e-education system of higher education institutions. Then, in order to validate the results of the interviews and confirm the components of the research conceptual framework, the fuzzy Delphi questionnaire and method were used and in order to prioritize the components of the research conceptual framework, the fuzzy hierarchy questionnaire and process (FAHP) were used. Based on the results of the research in the Delphi section, all 12 sub-themes or questions of the Delphi questionnaire were approved by the research experts. The results of fuzzy hierarchical analysis also showed that the technical requirements of e-learning have the highest priority among the specialized requirements, followed by the quality requirements of the education system, support requirements, requirements related to professors, requirements for educational quality and related requirements. With students, they are in the next ranks. Also, achieving effectiveness is the highest priority among the general requirements of the e-learning system, followed by satisfaction, optimal use and utilization, in the next ranks.
