چکیده
موضوع مقاله بررسی ریشه ها و تحول لغات مرتبط با «مترجم» و «ترجمه» در زبان های باستانی خاور نزدیک با تمرکز بر عبری و آرامی است. لغات دال بر مترجم در عبری و آرامی، mēlīṣ و metūrgemān، تحلیل شده و کاربرد آن ها در متون کتاب مقدس، فنیقی و پونیکی بررسی شده است. هلتسر با استناد به شواهد زبانی از کتیبه ها و لوح های گلی و لغتنامه ها کوشیده تا نشان دهد که لغات مرتبط با ترجمه چگونه پدید آمده و در هزاره اول پیش از میلاد چگونه وارد آرامی و زبان های سامی دیگر شده است.Neveštegān (9): The Biblical Words for “To Translate” and “Translator” and Their Origins
