چکیده
واژه عذراء برای هر مسلمان و مسیحی عرب زبان، نخست حضرت مریم (س) را به خاطر می آورد که همیشه از او با احترام و تقدّسی خاص یاد می شود. ملقب شدن آن حضرت به «عذرا» خود حکایتی دراز دارد که نشان می دهد این واژه چه راهی پیموده تا به ما رسیده است. امّا آن حضرت چرا به این صفت ملقب شدند؟ آیا این واژه از ابتدا به معنای «دوشیزه و باکره» به کار رفته است؟ این مقاله می کوشد تا سیر تحوّل معنایی این واژه را، از لحاظ تاریخی بررسی، و معانی گوناگون آن را در گذار از متون اصلی آشکار کند.A look at the word ʿazrā from a historical linguistic perspective
At first glance, the word ʿazr ā reminds ever Arabic speaking Muslim and Christian of Mary, who is always remembered with great respect and reverence. The fact that Mary was given the title ʿazrā has a long history which this word has gone through before reaching us. But how did Mary come to be called ʿazrā? Has this word been used to denote “virgin and celibate” from the beginning? This article attempts to historically search the semantic development of the word and elucidate its various meanings as it appears in principal sources.
