Background and purpose: This study aimed to determine the effect of stress management skills training and problem-solving methods virtually on the mental health and test anxiety of high school students. Cases and Methods: The research method is quasi-experimental and the research design is pre-test-post-test with a control group. The statistical population consisted of 700 high school male students in dandi city. 93 people were selected by available sampling and randomly in two experimental groups (problem-solving and stress management) and A control group was placed. Research tools include ten sessions of stress management Anthony et al. (2007) and a summary of the problem-solving training program (Heidari and Rasoulzadeh Tabatabai, 2007; Adapted from Dixon and Glover, 1984), Goldberg Mental Health Scale (1979) and Anxiety Scale The exam was Friedman (1997). Results: The results of the analysis of covariance showed that the two groups that had been trained in stress management and problem-solving skills had higher mental health (f =25.02 and P<0.001) and lower test anxiety (f = 16.65 and P<0.001) than the control group. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that stress management training and problem-solving skills virtually can be used as an effective intervention to increase mental health and reduce test anxiety. Therefore, using virtual education, stress management skills, and problem-solving methods can improve students' mental health and reduce stress and anxiety in students.
Psychological predictors of coronavirus-related anxiety in Iranian young adults(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
Aim: The sudden outbreak of Covid-19 virus in March and April 2020, sparked an emotional state of anxiety among different groups of society. The aim of the present study was to investigate the psychological predictors of coronavirus anxiety in Iranian young adults. Method: The sample included 517 women and men who responded to four electronic questionnaires which posted on the researchers' Instagram pages between March 11th and 28th 2020. The e-questionnaires included the Corona Anxiety Inventory, the Distress Tolerance Scale (DTS), Revised Health Hardiness (RHHI-24) and the Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile (HPLP-II). Results: Data was analyzed by using multi regression method in SPSS -24. The results of regression analysis showed that tolerating emotional distress, health hardiness, and a lifestyle that promotes health can significantly predict the anxiety caused by the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, it turned out that women experience more coronavirus anxiety than their male counterparts. Discussion & Conclusion: It can be concluded that psychological variables in stressful and ambiguous situations can determine the levels of anxiety that individuals experience. Implications for these results and limitations of the present study have been discussed.
Comparing the effectiveness of good enough child-rearing training schema therapy approach and positive parent program training on parent-child conflict in mothers of children with conduct disorder(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
Conduct disorder is one of the most serious and complex complications in school-aged children. This study was conducted with the aim of comparing the effectiveness of efficient child-rearing training with the schema therapy approach and positive parenting training on the parent-child conflict in mothers of children with conduct disorders. The method of the current research was a quasi-experimental one with pre-test-post-test method plus a control group and a follow-up stage. The population included all mothers of students with conduct problems in the second grade of elementary school in Tehran in the academic year of 2020-2021. From this population, after the implementation of the Sprafkin test (the fourth edition) a sample of 60 participants (three groups of 20 people from mothers of children, including two experimental groups and one control group) were selected using the availability sampling. They were given Sprafkin children's behavioral syndrome questionnaire and the parent-child conflict questionnaire. The results were analyzed using repeated measurements analysis of variance. The results indicated that both interventions led to a significant reduction in parent-child conflicts. Also, there was no significant difference between their effectiveness. In general, the results revealed that efficient child-rearing training with schema therapy approach and positive parenting training has a significant effect on parent-child conflict. The results of this study can be benefited in psychology, especially in the field of parenting.
The effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on the fear of negative evaluation and quality of life in people with social anxiety disorder(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
The purpose of the present research, investigate the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on the fear of negative evaluation and quality of life in people with social anxiety disorder. The current research method was a semi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this research consisted of all people with a social anxiety disorder who is 1401, they had referred to the psychology clinics of Mahabad city. From among the statistical population, 20 people were selected as accessible sampling and were randomly divided into 2 groups of 10 people (control group and experimental group). Data collection was done by using of Jerabek Social Anxiety Scale, Brief Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale (BFNES), and Brief Quality of Life scale (QOL). The acceptance and commitment therapy protocol was implemented in 8 sessions of 90 minutes, once a week for the experimental group. Data were analyzed by SPSS-22 software. In addition to descriptive statistics, multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used to analyze the data. The findings obtained from the analysis of variance showed that there is a significant difference between the control and experimental groups in the post-test stage in reducing the fear of negative evaluation and increasing the quality of life. This research shows that acceptance and commitment therapy is useful for people with social anxiety disorder and can be used as a psychological intervention along with other interventions.
Comparison of the Effectiveness of Compassion-Focused and Rational-Emotional Behavior Therapy on Weight Self-Efficacy and Self-Criticism(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of compassion-focused intervention and rational-emotional behavior therapy among women on weight self-efficacy and self-criticism on an Overweight Diet. This study was a quasi-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test with a control group. The statistical population consisted of all women on an overweight diet that was referred to therapy clinics in Tehran from December 2019 to April 2020. Through a convenience sampling method, 45 overweight females were selected based on inclusion criteria and randomly assigned to a control and two experimental groups. Both experimental groups1(n=15), and 2 (n=15) were treated with compassion-focused therapy and rational-emotional behavior therapy for ten and eight weekly 90-minute sessions, but the control group (n=15) did not receive any treatment. At the start of the study, all participants completed using the Weight Efficacy Lifestyle Questionnaire (WEL) and the Levels of Self-criticism (LOSC) Scale. Multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and One-Way Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) were applied by the SPSS-25 program (P < 0.05). Furthermore, there was a significant difference between post-test scores of compassion-focused intervention (CFT) and rational-emotional behavioral therapy (REBT) groups in terms of self-efficacy and self-criticism. The people in the REBT intervention group had better self-efficacy and self-criticism scores (p = 0.001). The findings showed that compassion-focused intervention (CFT) and rational-emotional behavioral therapy interventions could help with overweightness. Therefore, both intervention programs are recommended for improving weight self-efficacy and decreasing self-criticism among women on an overweight diet.

Students completed the Values in Action Inventory of Strengths (VIA-IS), Ryff's scale of Psychological well-being, short-form (18-item), and Strength-based parenting. In data analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation matrix, and hierarchical regression by version 25 of SPSS statistical software were used. Findings showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between character strength and psychological well-being (P <0.01). The results also showed that strength-based parenting has a moderating effect on the relationship between character strength and psychological well-being in children (P <0.01). In total, 55% of changes in psychological well-being are explained by the strength of character and strength-based parenting. According to the research findings, it can be concluded that strength-based parenting will modify the strength of character and psychological well-being of students.
