The proscription of illustration and painting in Islam is a topic often discussed by researchers and art-ists. Most orientalists have suggested that Islam generally opposed art, especially painting and illustra-tion, thus resulting in a number of limitations. A survey of different prophetic sayings on this subject (hadith singular, hadis plural), verses of the Qur'an, and artworks in the era of the caliphs has been pe-rused in this article. It seems that a core factor for the restriction was the possible reversion of newly converted Muslims to polytheism and idolatry. This was a genuine concern in early Islam. Today it is generally unknown, unheard of or simply ignored in the world of Islam. Islam has not prohibited paint-ing rather it does emphasize beauty and aesthetics.

Khatami’ Dialogue among Civilizations as International Political Theory(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Many academics, worldwide have considered Khatami’s Dialogue of Civilizations as a pow-erful rhetoric and antithesis of the so-called ‘Clash of Civilization’ theory. This article, how-ever, tries to show the originality and depth of Khatami’s vision, framed against the back-ground of ‘the end of history’ and clash of civilization’ theories, political frames used by po-litical actors in the post cold war international order. Citing quotations from the number of speeches delivered by Khatami’s author tries to identify the notions behind the dialogue, which according to him has been influenced by many philosophical and religious trends, and which more of less justifies Iranian foreign policy and protect national interest rather a genu-ine vision to construct peaceful and just world. Further, the present article raises many ques-tions regarding the intellectual indifference and liberal west as non receptive to the dialogue, and thus, specially in the wake of recent unease around the globe.

صدى المرأه فی الاعمال النقدیه الواقعیه لنجیب محفوظ(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

تهدف المقاله ابراز دور و مکانه المرأه فی الأعمال الأدبیه الواقعیه لنجیب محفوظ، من خلال اعماله الناقده و ذلک بتصویرها فی شتى طبقات المجتمع؛ السفلى و الوسطی و العلیا. و ترى المقاله أن المرأه فی اعمال نجیب محفوظ من الناحیه الاقتصادیه تدور بدوران الحاله الاجتماعیه فی المجتمع بأسره و هی مرکز التنبه لنجیب محفوظ فى بمته عن تأثیر الإقتصاد فی المجتمع و ما یولده فی حاله ضعفه و قله موارده من تفشی الفساد و ذلک بتصویر المرأه الفقیره بأنها بائعه الجسد. من جهه أخرى ترى المرأه فی الرجل منقذاً لها من همومها و احزانها الناجمه عن الشعور بالوحده و انعدام العلاقه مع الجنس الآخر. هذه الحاله تصویر للمرأه فی الطبقه العلیا من المجتمع وکلا النوعین او الحالتین للمرأه (الفقیره، بائعه الجسد و البرجوازیه التی تبغی الخلاص علی ید الرجل) کانت هذه المرأه ضحیه للفساد الناجم عن الطبقیه غیر العادله. اما المرأه فی الطبقه الوسطى فی تصویر نجیب محفوظ لها، فاکثر حظَاً من مثیلاتها فی الطبقتین السفلى و العلیا فهی فی الغالب امرأه شریفه التزمت التقالید و لم تهم وراء الرجل فلم تقع ضحیه المؤثرات الاقتصادیه بشکل واضح. من جهه أخرى نجد أن اسلوب نجیب محفوظ الادبی قد صوّر المرأه فی الطبقه الوسطى تصویراً أعمق من غیرها فی الطبقتین الفقیره و البرجوازیه ذلک لأنه ینتمی إلى هذه الطبقه و قد عاش فی أوساطها لذلک نراه یستوفی حقّها من الوصف و بیان ما هو علیها.
