Systemic paradigms have monopolised our approach to International Relations. The agency of the individual has been greatly compromised in the process. Additionally the interchangeability of reason and rationality in IR literature together with the prioritisation of order over justice (through a fundamental misconception) have further disenfranchised people in global politics. This short article, whilst critiquing the above, aims to utilise the concept of love to remedy some of the shortcomings in contemporary IR.
