Purpose: the aim of the present research was to present an aggression prediction model in teenagers based on family cohesion and communication patterns with the mediating role of resilience. Methodology : this cross-sectional study was of correlation type. The research population consisted of second grade high school students of Tehran city in academic year 2019-2020. The research sample consisted of 500 individuals chosen through multistage cluster sampling method. They responded to the following instruments: Novaco Anger Scale and Provocation (Novaco, 1986), communication patterns (Ritchie and Fitz Patrick, 1990), family cohesion (Olson et al., 1985), and resilience (Connor and Davidson, 2003). The data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and structural equations modeling in SPSS and AMOS 22. Findings : the results showed that the aggression prediction model in teenagers based on family cohesion and communication patterns with the mediating role of resilience had good fit. Further, conformity-oriented communication pattern did not have a direct significant effect on resilience and aggression in teenagers and indirect significant effect with the mediating role of resilience on aggression in them (P>0.05). However, the conversation-oriented communication pattern and family cohesion had a direct significant effect on resilience and aggression in teenagers as well as indirect significant effect with the mediating role of resilience on aggression in them (P<0.05). Conclusion : according to the obtained results, for reducing aggression in teenagers, the extent of conversation communication pattern and family cohesion can be promoted in them through organizing educational workshops.

Objective: Considering domestic violence occurs in the context of marital relationship, it seems necessary to examine the individual characteristics of each couple in the occurrence of this phenomenon. Therefore, the purpose of this study was Comparison of communication skills, Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies and Communication Patterns in Women with and Without Experience of Domestic Violence. Methods: The present study was an analytical-comparative study. The statistical populations of this study were all women of Rasht city in the 2018 year. Among these women, 120 persons were considered as a research sample; of these, 60 people in the group of women with experience of violence were selected using available sampling method and 60 people in the group of women without experience of violence were selected using cluster sampling method. Data measurement tools in this study were Communication Skills Questionnaire (CSTRQ), Marital Relationship Patterns Questionnaire (CPQ) and Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ). The data of this study were analyzed using independent t-test in SPSS 21. Results:  The results showed that there was a significant difference between communication skills and communication patterns of constructive interaction and withdrawal-belonging pattern in women with and without experience of domestic violence (P <0.05). However, no significant difference was observed between the two groups in terms of communication pattern of mutual avoidance and cognitive regulation of emotion. Conclusion: Considering the important role of communication skills and patterns in the occurrence or prevention of domestic violence, communication skills training in premarital counseling and marital counseling seems necessary.

This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of family emotional atmosphere on the association between communication patterns and distress tolerance in married women. The study employed a correlational design and utilized path analysis. The research sample comprised 217 married women residing in Tehran in the year 1400, who were selected using convenience sampling methodology. The research instruments included the Couple's Communication Patterns, the Family Emotional Atmosphere, and Distress Tolerance. The results of the path analysis revealed a statistically significant association between communication patterns and distress tolerance, with the emotional atmosphere of the family serving as a mediator in this relationship. The mediating role of family emotional atmosphere is found to be significant in the relationship between non-reciprocal constructive relationship and distress tolerance (P=0.22, β=0.001) and the relationship between mutual avoidance and distress tolerance (P=0.001, β=-0.19). The research findings suggest an idea for implementing an intervention targeting contributing and causal factors, specifically communication patterns and the emotional atmosphere within families, which impact the distress tolerance of married women.

Methods: The research method was quasi-experimental. The population consisted of all married individuals attending psychological counseling and service centers in Meybod. Using questionnaires on communication patterns and marital infidelity, and employing purposive sampling, 20 couples with higher scores were selected from a pool of 50 couples. They were randomly assigned to either the experimental group (10 couples) or the control group (10 couples). The experimental group underwent Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, while the control group received no treatment. Post-tests were administered to both groups. Results, analyzed using covariance analysis. Findings: Findings showed that Acceptance and Commitment-Based Couple Therapy significantly impacts the communication patterns of married individuals. Additionally, it significantly affects marital infidelity among married individuals. Conclusion: Thus, ACT can be used to enhance couple’s relationship and prevent infidelity and divorce.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of positive psychotherapy and emotion-focused therapy on attachment patterns, communication patterns, and lifestyle of incompatible couples who referred to counseling centers. Methods: This study is applied research in nature and quasi-experimental in execution, utilizing a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population included all couples with incompatible spouses who referred to counseling centers (Behesht Counseling Center) in Isfahan in 2022. From this population, 45 individuals were selected using convenience and purposive sampling and divided into three groups: two experimental groups (each with 15 participants) and one control group (15 participants). The first experimental group underwent Goodwin's positive psychotherapy (2018) in ten sessions, and the second experimental group underwent Johnson's emotion-focused therapy (2006) in eight sessions. The questionnaires used in this study were Hazan and Shaver's Attachment Questionnaire (1987), Christensen and Sullaway's Communication Patterns Questionnaire (1984), and Miller-Smith's Lifestyle Questionnaire (2003). Findings: Using covariance analysis, the results indicated that, after controlling for pre-test levels, there were significant differences between the experimental and control groups of incompatible couples in terms of attachment patterns (secure, avoidant-insecure, and ambivalent-insecure), communication patterns (constructive mutual), communication pattern (demand/withdraw), communication pattern (avoidant), and lifestyle. The effect size was 0.48 for emotion-focused therapy. Similarly, significant differences were observed for positive psychotherapy with an effect size of 0.41. There was a significant difference in the effectiveness of positive psychotherapy and emotion-focused therapy on attachment patterns (secure, avoidant-insecure, and ambivalent-insecure). Conclusion: Overall, the results indicate that emotion-focused therapy has a greater impact on attachment patterns (secure, avoidant-insecure, and ambivalent-insecure) compared to positive psychotherapy. Significant differences were also observed in the impact on communication patterns (constructive mutual, demand/withdraw, and avoidant) and lifestyle, with emotion-focused therapy showing a greater effect.
