چکیده
شعر بلند روایی لاله رخ نوشته توماس مور شاعر ایرلندی داستان سفر شه دختی جوان و دلدادگی او به فرامرز، شاعر جوانی است که در مسیر سفر داستان هایی از سرزمین ایران روایت می کند. دوران حیات شاعر مصادف با حکومت ناپلئون، سلطنت جورج سوم و نیز استعمار ایرلند توسط انگلیس است و آن چه در بررسی شعر لاله رخ جالب می نماید گزینش هدفمند وقایع تاریخی ایران، داستان های کهن فارسی و متون اسلامی، و تطبیق آن با فضای سیاسی زمان و مکان شاعر است که در حیطه نظریه شرق شناسی ادوارد سعید (1979) قابل بررسی می باشد. شرق شناسی به بررسی نحوه تعامل متون شرق نگر غربی با عناصر شرقی می پردازد و طرح آن دریچه جدیدی بر مطالعه و احیای متون ادبی نویسندگان و مستشرقان غربی قرون هجده و نوزده میلادی گشوده است.From Iran to Ireland: A Study of Thomas Moore’s Lalah-Rookh in the Light of Edward Said’s Orientalism
Lalah-Rookh(1817), Thomas Moore’s long narrative romance, is the story of a young princess’s journey and her affection for Feramorz, a young poet who relates various stories from Iran. Moore lives in the era of Napoleon’s sovereignty, George III’s domination, and the British colonization of Ireland. In his depiction of Persian history, literature, and religion, he tries to make them adaptable to his native society. This attempt can be investigated within the framework of Edward Said’s Orientalism. Scrutinizing orientalist writings of westerners the theory introduces new ways to study orientalist literary texts of 18th and 19th centuries.
