Borders are geo-spatial phenomena which including different dimensions. So, research and scientific work in the field of border studies for being accurate and acceptable should be done in such a way those different dimensions of border studies have considered. The problem is that only some dimensions have been considered and not others which would provide reduction of the credibility and effectiveness of the studies. The first step in the study of border can be considered basic dimensions of the border. So, this study has been completed by analytical and descriptive study and by using content analysis and data library with the aim of achieving basic dimensions of border studies. The results indicate that the dimensions discussed in border studies derived from theories, views and border articles are at least 55, which can be divided in the form of eight; geographical, political-sovereignty, defense-security, socio-cultural, economic, legal, geopolitical and technological. These dimensions and indexes by T-test have been evaluated and approved and their ranking is as follows; security- defense have the highest score and technological the lowest score. On the other hand it should be noted with regard to the nature of the bilateral border; these eight basic dimensions of border must be considered on both sides of the border and studied until scientific studies and researches have the necessary performance.

Opportunistic networks in the Internet of Things (IoT) scenario, also known as OppIoT, espouse IoT devices interactions opportunistically in order to improve connectivity, the lifetime of the network, and network reliability. An increase in opportunistic utilization is fostered by IoT applications to find communication opportunities whenever possible to route and deliver data efficiently. In this opportunistic scenario, devising an efficient path for data delivery is a challenging work due to uncertainty in the connection between the nodes and the selection of intermediate forwarder nodes for data delivery towards the destination. Considering the scenario of uncertainty in device location and exploiting IoT devices opportunistically, this paper propounds a routing algorithm for OppIoT called Hybrid Multi-Copy Routing Algorithm (HMCRA). The proposed algorithm finds potential forwarder nodes by using fuzzy logic wherein residual energy, distance, and speed of the nodes are considered as input values while preparing fuzzy rules. Genetic Algorithm (GA) is considered along with fuzzy logic to select an efficient path for data delivery. In GA, the delay is taken as the fitness function to select a reliable path for data delivery. Simulation results of the proposed algorithm perform well in contrast with relative existing routing algorithms with respect to latency, overhead ratio, delivery probability, and hop count. The work uniqueness lies in the selection of potential nodes and finding path having less hop count in an opportunistic IoT network scenario.

A conflict can involve anything from a personal disagreement between two people to the emergence of a world war. When a conflict arises, a combination of the main components of geopolitics (geography, politics and power) plays a role in its formation. Thus, the roots of the conflict can be explained in the frame of the principles of geopolitics. Most of the conflicts in Africa occur in 0-15 degrees north. The current study is a work of “basic research”. In terms of nature and method, it is “descriptive” and in terms of attitude, it falls in the category of “descriptive-analytic” research. Data gathering was done by a documentary method and through consulting library resources. The data analysis method was qualitative. The research set out to find an answer to the following question: “From a geopolitical point of view, which factors affect interstate and intrastate conflicts in circle 0 to 15th parallel north of Africa?” The current study has explained the roots of the conflicts from a geopolitical perspective through studying the conflicts in circle 0 to 15th parallel north of Africa. This study led to the presentation and introduction of 26 geopolitical root causes for conflicts.

The purpose of this study is to examine the protracted border problems of Indonesia - Timor Leste, especially unresolved segments in the Noel Besi - Citrana area. The method used in this research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The findings in this study show that the protracted land boundary problem between Indonesia and Timor Leste, namely the unresolved segment Noel Besi-Citrana, is caused by differences in interpretation between Indonesia and Timor Leste of the 1904 Treaty. Therefore, the Noel Besi River and its estuary, as contained in the 1904 Treaty, are still a matter of debate between Indonesia and Timor Leste. The error in the 1904 Treaty was to define an object using two definitions, geometrically and toponymical, which caused later debate. This condition has an impact on the social conditions of border communities, to be prone to conflict due to the unclear territorial boundaries of the country.
