The aim of the present study was to determine the role of the achievement motivation and test anxiety in predicting students' self-handicapping and procrastination. The method was descriptive-correlational, and the statistical population included all young students of the University of Applied Sciences and Technology of East Tehran; who were studying in one of the faculties of this university in the academic year of 2017-2018. The Cochran's sample size estimation formula was used to determine the sample size, which were 340 people. The sampling was done on a basis of a random multi-step way. Edward E. Jon's self-efficacy scale, Herman's motivated progress, Solomon's and Rathblum's procrastination, and Sarason's test anxiety were used in the study in order to collect the data. The SPSS 24 and Pearson correlation and canonical correlation methods were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that predicting the variable of procrastination based on test anxiety variables and achievement motivation is significant (p .

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the components of academic performance with personality traits and early maladaptive schemas mediated by self-determination. Method: The research method was descriptive-correlation and structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the present study included all female high school students in Tehran in the academic year 2019-2020. For this purpose, 350 students were selected by simple random sampling. Then their scores were measured through the Academic Procrastination Scale, Solomon and Rothblum (1984), Young Schema Short Form (2003), Neo-Form Short Personality Questionnaire (1985), Guardia, Desi and Ryan (2000) Self-Determination Questionnaire. Path analysis, structural equations and regression test were used. Findings: Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between all components of academic affiliation with the components of early maladaptive schemas and the role of self-determination is in the relationship between the two(P<00/01). Also, the relationship between all components of academic work and personality traits except psychosis was negative. The relationship between the end-of-semester exam component of academic work with conscientiousness and agreement of personality traits was not significant and the role of self-determination in the relationship between these two variables is indirect. Conclusion: According to the results of the present study, the importance and role of self-determination in reducing academic procrastination can be understood.

Several factors and personality traits are involved in this negligence. This study aimed to investigate the procrastination trait and its relationship with disaster preparedness levels in Tehran, Iran. Method: This descriptive-correlational study was conducted between 2018 and 2021 using structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this study was citizens in Tehran, Iran. A sample size of 419 cases was included in this study. Standard tests have also been utilized to investigate the variables. Findings: Based on the obtained results, according to the coefficients reported in the model, it can be observed that procrastination has no significant effect on disaster preparedness Conclusion: Procrastination and experiences gained affect people's preparedness for disaster. According to the results, the preparedness of the people of Tehran for accidents is very low.

In the long process of learning English as a foreign language, learners may become exhausted and, if not treated properly, decide to give up learning temporarily and even permanently. Therefore, it seems necessary to explore the reasons for their temporal delays and consider them appropriately to avoid permanent give-ups. As an attempt to determine the reasons for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ delays, the researchers in the present study explored their contributing factors through application of a classical grounded theory approach which led to the development of Language Learning Procrastination (LLP) theory. The research data were collected through semi-structured interviews from 43 EFL learners in Tabriz, Iran, and were coded in open, selective, and theoretical coding stages through a Constant Comparative Method. The emerged theory involved a core category (i.e., Dilatory Behavior) indicating that EFL learners mostly procrastinate in five domains of doing exercises, preparation for exam, submitting projects, starting up speaking, and learning spelling. Furthermore, three major categories of Learners’ Characteristics, Environmental Conditions, and Task Features as the causes of Dilatory Behavior emerged during the iterative data collection and analysis procedures. The results of the study indicated that both EFL learners’ own characteristics and external factors related to the learning environment and language tasks are significant in shaping the EFL learners’ procrastination. The theory of LLP can be applied in EFL settings to recognize the learners’ sources of Dilatory Behavior and devise appropriate solutions for them.
