Today, budgets are considered by many as a powerful tool to conduct and control an organization's internal and external affairs. Budget, budgeting, and budgetary controls are the priority of every manufacturing and service entity. Top management in organizations uses budgets to monitor and control the financial and nonfinancial activities that occur within their organization. The current research method is empirical, which tests the feasibility of a solution using empirical evidence based on statistical applications. The study considered SENSEX 30 companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The statistical population comprised five top-level managers categories, including 150 respondents, eight mid-level managers, 240 respondents, and 12 lower-level supervisory cadres of 360 respondents. The total population is 750 respondents. "Simple Random Sampling Technique" used in the current study. Primary Data was collected using an Interview Schedule developed explicitly for the purpose and finalized after conducting the pilot survey. The collected primary data are validated, tabulated, and classified. Secondary data were collected from published articles, the Companies Act, the Accounting Standards Manual published by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Websites, journals, and other validated material. The companies' annual reports were a significant secondary data source. Data analysis uses Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), and interpretations are made based on statistical tools. The results of the research indicated that most Indian companies set budgeting systems in accordance with accounting standards. The results of the current study also show some significant factors that need to be considered by the organization while setting budgets.
Comparing the Effect of Information Quality on Economic Profit and Accounting Profit with the Artificial Intelligence Approach(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
Profit is one of the financial statement items that significantly impact user decision-making and has received a lot of attention. Evaluating goal achievement is one of the essential aspects of any economic activity. With the increasing progress of economic activities and the need for more accurate evaluation methods to reality and complete older methods, this issue undoubtedly enters a new field. Economic value added is a performance measure that accurately calculates how a company's value increases or decreases, considering the opportunity cost of shareholders and the time value of money. This research aims to identify the most influential factors for explaining economic and accounting profit using an artificial intelligence approach. There is no such internal research given the subject. The financial data of 127 companies from 2011 to 2019 was used to test the hypotheses. The findings indicate that the variables "profit quality," "profit stability," "profit predictability," "profit smoothing," "profit transparency," "close proximity to cash," "awareness," "conservatism," and "timeliness" have a significant relationship with economic and accounting profit. However, there is no meaningful relationship between economic profit and accounting profit and the variable "Profit relevance."
An Analysis of the Board of Directors Network Relations Regarding Determination of their Tax Policies Planning(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
Tax is one of the primary sources of government revenue which is a principal part of the government budget and is considered an inevitable part of corporate payments. The Board of directors is one of the chief decision-making groups in determining corporate tax avoidance. Therefore, the relationships seen in the form of a social network between the board members of various companies can affect the tax policy of companies. The primary purpose of this study is to examine the structure of relationships between companies based on their joint board members and to detect the relationship between the companies position in the network of board members' relations with their tax planning activities. The statistical population of this research was all companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange from 2011 to 2020. The social network analysis approach developed on graphic techniques based on graph theory and regression analysis was used to conduct the research analysis. The research results show that some companies active in the Tehran Stock Exchange have a better position than other companies in the network. In addition, evidence showed that the status and position of companies in the network of relationships could affect the extent of their tax avoidance.
Predicting Optimal Portfolio by Algorithm Analysis Systems(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
Choosing the proper investment mechanism is one of the main tasks of any investor that requires careful analysis and research on all available information. Since no investor exactly knows whether his or her expectations for a particular stock return will be met, they need to build their strategy in such a way as to eliminate as much damage as possible in the event of an adverse outcome. This study aims to predict the optimal portfolio using Algorithm Analysis Systems. In this regard, 98 firms listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange were examined in 2015-2019. Then, random portfolios were selected to test the research hypotheses by separating value stocks and growth stocks. For analysis, two algorithms of Support Vector Machines and an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System were used to select the most desirable portfolio. According to the support vector machine algorithm analysis, the results confirm the difference between the Sortino and Marquitz portfolios. To build their portfolios, decision-makers often rely on growth stocks which can boost their expected returns. Therefore, recognizing the analytical nature of portfolio formation in specialized areas can help improve investment analysis and pave the way for higher returns.
Ranking Psychological Theories with the Accounting-based Approach to Contingency Management using AHP Technique(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
The theory of psychology focuses on the explanation and prediction of individuals by examining specific behavior rather than the expression of an organization or society and on non-objective phenomena rather than an objective, and its importance for the management of the contingency arises from the fact that the function of the individual at any given time must be evaluated based on his conditions and working situations and due to its complex and diverse dimensions, decision making confronts with several choices and criteria which can be examined by multi-criteria analysis. This applied research aims to rank the psychological theories with an accounting approach based on the management of contingencies using the AHP method. The method of this study was a descriptive survey conducted by distributing the questionnaire. The statistical population of the study consisted of elites and accounting experts with over 20 years of job experience in Tehran. Sixty-eight individuals were selected randomly, and the questionnaires were distributed among them. After collecting the research for data analysis using expert choice software, the research, and ranking of the data were done using the AHP technique. The findings of the study indicate that the motivation theory and social psychology theory, and finally, cognitive psychology theory are based on priority order. In other words, in the accounting-based approach to contingency management, most motivational theories are presented and show a higher impact, one of the most important reasons for which can be attributed to the reliance of accounting on individual management
Integrated Modeling of Causes and Consequences of Forward-Looking Information Disclosure in Annual Reports(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
The forward-looking information disclosure presents the information that enables the beneficiaries to evaluate a company's future that might involve financial forecasts and uncertainty. This affects the company's performance and decreases the stock return volatility. The present research aims at integrated modeling of the causes and consequences of forward-looking information disclosure. This study is an applied descriptive correlational research. The sample included 93 companies listed on the Tehran stock exchange from 2013 to 2019. The impact of all the causes of forward-looking information disclosure and its consequences was extracted by applying the structural equation modeling method. The consequences include capital cost and informational asymmetry, and the causes of forward-looking information disclosure include macroeconomic features, financial performance, ownership structure, board characteristics, structural properties, and audit. In short, according to the obtained results, the forward-looking information disclosure significantly positively affects the capital cost.
On the contrary, it has no significant influence on informational asymmetry. Further, the results of testing the model revealed that the variables of ownership structure and financial performance positively influence forward-looking information disclosure. In addition, the impact of macroeconomic characteristics is negative, and there is no relationship between the forward-looking information disclosure with the audit, structural features, and the board's characteristics
