Prioritizing and Assessment of the Relationships between Factors Affecting Underdevelopment of Electronic Banking in Iran (a Study with Fuzzy DEMATEL Approach)(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Banks, in order to extend the development of information technology and electronic banking services and its using by customers, in first place, should examine barriers and problems in using information technology. Therefore, in this study we deal with identifying and prioritizing these barriers in Iranian banks. Our method in this research is descriptive-survey. In this way, after the library study and the extraction of factors and problems facing the information technology, common indexes is extracted by Delphi approach, which is classified in 8 categories and led to 17 indexes. Then, by helping the fuzzy DEMATEL approach we prioritize these indexes. By using MATLAB software the affecting and the affected factors was analyzed. The results show that the affecting factors on development of electronic banking include society culture of acceptance, lack of public awareness, the field of communications, strong culture of organization, managers’ acquaintance with technology, strong regulations to deal with cyber criminals, recruitment of skilled human resources and coordination in the adoption of field of policies in the of technology. Also the affected factors of development of electronic banking include existence of centers of various decision making in technology, development and being adequate networks, individuals’ continuous training, managers planning about promotion and maintenance of systems, existence of modern hardware and software, system monitoring and safety, required standards in information resources, lack of deficiency in accuracy and being up to date the information and information resources. They all are affecting from other factors in electronic banking development. JEL Classification: C44, G210

Challenges of the Iranian E-Banking Business Model in Digital Transformation(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

With advanced information and communication technology, the organizations’ business model has undergone fundamental changes. These changes are also observed in the banking industry. This research aims at explaining the Iranian electronic banking business model and recognizing its challenges in the transformation to digital banking, which is considered as the research innovation. In terms of method, the present research is a qualitative study and in terms of goal, it is primary research. In this research, grounded theory has been used as a systematic method for the investigation of complex multilateral issues. The population includes the expert managers of the banking industry who have mastery over macro policies of banking and electronic payment in Iran. Regarding the research method, all the interviews were recorded and converted to text. The coding and classification process was done based on three stages of open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The outputs of these three stages were provided in the form of codes, concepts, and categories. During and after data collection, the data were reviewed for several times, the key points were specified, and the related codes were counted. Finally, 761 codes, 26 concepts, and 14 categories related to the research topic were identified based on which, the conceptual business model of Iranian electronic banking was developed. Based on the conceptual model of the research, seven challenges for digital banking transformation were identified.

The technological revolution has spread over today's world, and it is clearly seen in banking, especially electronic banking. E-Banking has many dimensions, criteria, and components, and judging its progress based on dimensions leads to difficulty and bias. There is also a lack of comprehensive information references in the literature. Therefore, introducing a combinational index to accurately assess its progress is inevitable. In this research, the E-Banking Progress Index (E-BPI), which focuses on the infrastructures and the tools of e-banking and has five dimensions: Technical and Communicational Infrastructures; Services; Cultural-Educational Infrastructures; Security and Supervision; and Legal-Regulatory Infrastructures is created. It also has several applications in investigating the progress of e-banking in a bank or a country and comparing it among banks or countries. This research, using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), leads to the introduction of a combinational index to measure the progress of e-banking, which is able to analyze its strength and weakness. E-BPI provides a score between 0 and 1. The more the score, the stronger the e-banking is.

Providing a Model for Improving the E-Banking Customer Experience Using Digital Marketing Tools (Approach to Enriching the Value of Digital Banking During the Outbreak of Infectious Diseases)(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

The purpose of this study is to provide a model for improving the e-banking customer experience using digital marketing tools. This research has been done with the approach to enriching the value of digital banking during the outbreak of infectious diseases. The paradigm of the present study is interpretive and the implementation approach is qualitative; In this regard, the case study method has been used. This research is descriptive-exploratory in terms of purpose and in terms of time, it is in the field of cross-sectional studies. The qualitative methodology of grounded theory analysis by Strauss and Corbin (2007) was used to answer the research question. This research has been done inductively and based on a survey procedure. The experts  were the managers of reputable Iranian banks. Based on systematic sampling, 14 people were selected. The research tool was a semi-structured interview with questions related to the purpose of the research. Interviews were analyzed using AtlasTi version 10 software. Based on the designed model, 6 categories for causal factors (appropriate decision making, time management, digitization effects, cost management, business trends, and relationship management), 2 categories for contextual conditions (digital tools and digital economy), 2 categories for intervening conditions (individual and environmental factors), 3 categories for strategy (creativity, culture development, and digital context), 3 categories for outcomes (banking industry prosperity, customer satisfaction, and economic productivity) were identified.
