Perception and employing our ancestors’ properties is of highest importance if the approach of our ancestor’s knowledge share be due to recreating creative designs in accordance to urban space and modern neighborhood. The fundamental needs of human or physical needs of architecture are adoptable because they seek to find a good framework to compare and rank different designs regarding the aesthetic aspects. Through this the strength and weak points in different architecture design particularly in local architecture of Iran can be specified. To do so, by examining Bazar and Timche and comparing and contrasting them with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, the present study aimed to present a system to rank the aesthetic elements in them. Concepts such as introvert and extrovert in houses, linear and central structure, enclosure, geometry, and space that are the results of the elements of Bazar and Timche have some material and meaning qualities that can be ranked. The benefits to use such perspective by contributing tools such as hierarchy of basic needs provide us with having required confidence toward completeness of a design.

This study aimed to assess the quality of Persian translation of Orwell's (1949) Nineteen Eighty-Four by Balooch (2004) based on House's (1997) model of translation quality assessment. To do so, 23 pages (about 10 percent) of the source text were randomly selected. The profile of the source text register was produced and the genre was realized. The source text profile was compared to the translation text profile. The result of this comparison was dimensional mismatches and overt errors. The dimensional mismatches were categorized based on different dimensions of register including field, tenor, and mode. The overt errors which were based on denotative mismatches and target system errors were categorized into omissions, additions, substitutions, and breaches of the target language system. Then, the frequencies of occurrences of subcategories of overt errors along with their percentages were calculated. The overt errors and dimensional errors were analyzed carefully. The dimensional mismatches as well as a large number of major overt errors such as omissions and substitutions indicated that the translation was not in accordance with the House's view stating that literary works needed to be translated overtly. In other words, mismatches on different levels of register showed that the cultural filter was applied in translation and the second-level functional equivalence required for overt translation was not reached. As a result, the Persian translation of Nineteen Eighty-Four did not fulfill the criteria to be an overt translation. Instead, this translation tended to be a covert one.

Nowadays, huge tendency to fashion and consumerism could be assumed as the origin of identity crisis among women and in their houses. This phenomenon is like a veil between man and the fact of his human being. Given that the physical properties of man-made environments (house) are influenced by human properties and, in return, have an important role in giving identity to their audience, identification of different dimensions of these properties can be useful in the creation of physical environment with the goal of overwhelming such a crisis. In this study, the roots and effects of the tendency toward fashion and consumerism were explored. It is believed that modernism and materialism are the main causes for the current crisis. At the second stage, to understand the nature of relationship between humans and their environments, theories from semiotics, phenomenology, and semantics were studied. After reviewing many sources, it was found out that self awareness is the only way to promote women and their houses’ identities. Finally, using a logical reasoning method, among all reviewed approaches, Endogenous Development Model was confirmed as the best approach to getting out of the kind of crisis explained above. According to the findings, this approach can pave the ground for inhabitants’ growth in addition to creating valuable places with their unique identity.

Given more than seven thousand years of urbanization and highly diverse topographic and geographical conditions, Iran is one of the treasures through the world's architectural history. Climatic diversity, on the one hand, and long history of living, on the other hand, has led to noteworthy and valuable achievement in architecture and urbanization within this country. However, these elements are less utilized in today architecture. Urban life, technological advances and excessive economical demands have extremely made people apart from the nature and formed their mind within an iterative mechanized order. Furthermore, human being is a part of nature and his/ her close relationship to the nature provides him/her with survival and longevity. In Iranian houses, a space indicating relationship between human and nature is courtyard. Central courtyards within vernacular houses in Yazd provided inhabitants with terrific living conditions and enhanced their living quality by utilizing natural elements such as water, wind, light, and plants. Today, due to providing more houses regardless of their quality, not only are natural elements ignored in human life; but also in many cases, buildings do not have essential features of living. This paper attempts to explore how to create and enter natural elements in apartments. This paper aims to investigate natural elements on vernacular houses in Yazd. A descriptive, analytic methodology along with a case study (vernacular houses in Yazd) were employed and data was collected through library and field research.

In today lives, daily trips of house inhabitants to out is made using closed staircase spaces or lobbies. Lack of a place for neighbourly relation results in less recognition and in some cases there is no neighbourly and friendly relationship. Families and especially kids surrounded in-house space so, today kids have less mobility and cause to depression of inhabitants of apartment houses. In apartments and today houses because of economic function of construction, almost it is seen that yard use as parking or cars commute. This research attempts to recognize yard importance in current residential architect and try to discover yard effects on house inhabitants. To do so, a fieldwork is done and existence aspects of a yard from three perspectives, quality, function and environmental condition regulation, in some houses are investigated and using a comparison of results the most important reasons of the yard are introduced. Generally, these reasons are categorized in two axes: human tends to collective life and a deep relation of the human with nature.
