چکیده
در این پژوهش، سنت خانقاهی خرقه دریدن با آداب مشابهی در فرهنگ های ایران باستان، مسیحیت، یهودیت و همچنین برخی رسوم کهن عرب جاهلی، مصری و بین النهرینی مقایسه شده است. در بخش نخست این مقاله به معرفی اجمالی سنت جامه دریدن در تصوف اسلامی پرداخته و در ادامه با ارائه شواهدی نشان داده شده است که شباهت بسیاری میان این رسم و سنت جامه دریدن در دیگر فرهنگ ها و مذاهب کهن وجود دارد که از قدمت و گستردگی این رسم باستانی به ویژه در منطقه خاور نزدیک حکایت می کند. به طور کلی در تمام نمونه های بازمانده، جامه دریدن بر نوعی حس اضطراب شدید دلالت دارد. در نمونه های کهن تر، مرگ عزیزان و ترس از عواقب هولناک گناهان کبیره ای چون کفرگویی اصلی ترین محرک های این رفتار خاص اند. این معانی در ادبیات یهودی، مسیحی و اسلامی نمونه های فراوانی دارند و همچنین به فرهنگ تصوف اسلامی نیز راه یافته اند. علاوه بر این ها، تصوف اسلامی این رسم کهن را بازتفسیر و با افزودن معانی تازه ای متناسب با چهارچوب های مفهومی خود به سنت باستانی جامه دریدن، آن را به رسمی خانقاهی بدل کرده است. در پایان این نوشته، پس از تحلیل نمونه های متعدد از این رفتار سمبولیک در طول تاریخ، به نخستین ریشه ها و فرایند شکل گیری آن پرداخته می شود و دو فرضیه دررابطه با سرمنشأهای این رسم کهن، تحلیل و بررسی می شوند.Rending Garments, from the Ancient World to Sufi Hospice
This article explores the Sufi tradition of rending garments and compares it with similar practices in Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Judaism, as well as in some ancient Arab, Egyptian, and Mesopotamian cultures. The first section gives a brief introduction to the Sufi custom and highlights the striking similarities between this symbolic gesture in Islamic mysticism and the tradition of stripping in some ancient religions and cultures, mainly rooted in the Near East. Broadly, all of the contexts, in which the act of rending garments is performed, indicate deep anxieties and intense feelings. Older instances show that the main triggers include the death of loved ones and the dreadful consequences of cardinal sins such as blasphemy and sacrilege. These meanings can be found in Jewish, Christian and Islamic literature and can also be found in Sufism. In addition to these meanings, Sufism has reinterpreted the ancient tradition, giving it new meanings aligned with its fundamental concepts to introduce it as a Sufi tradition. Lastly, the article's final section explains this tradition's formation and evolution, presenting two different theories on its origins.
