Volleyball
حوزههای تخصصی:
Background : Volleyball is known as sport that requires high physical fitness, including muscle power, agility and reaction; hence, body composition and anthropometric features play important roles in this field. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between anthropometric and body composition indices with lower limb explosive power in female volleyball players. Material and method : This correlational study was conducted in which 16 semi-professional female volleyball players with an average age of 20.4 ± 1.34 years and BMI of 22.09 ± 3.42 kg/m2 voluntarily participated. All volleyball players had a history of participation in the Tehran province volleyball league. First, data were collected and recorded by demographic questionnaire. Then, the body composition (fat percentage, muscle mass, visceral fat) was measured and recorded in the 3-hours fasting condition by body analysis device (OMRUN Bf511). Finally, Sargent Vertical Jump Test was used to evaluate explosive power of the lower limb muscles. Results : Pearson correlation coefficient was used at the significant level p Conclusion: The results of this study show that resistance training along with volleyball specific power training can increase the muscle mass as well as it is at the same time.
Balance Performance With and Without Visual Information: A Comparison of Elite Players With Chronic Ankle Instability(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Introduction: This research was conducted to determine whether professional athletes with Chronic Ankle Instability (CAI) exhibit differences in maintaining balance under conditions of with and without visual informationMaterials and Methods: Forty-five elite players with CAI were classified into soccer, volleyball, and basketball groups (n=15 each). All participants performed a static single-leg balance test in conditions wherein visual information was provided and withheld. Also, their center of pressure (CoP) oscillation parameters was measured. The data were examined through an analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the Tukey test. Results: A significant difference was found between the soccer and volleyball players (P=0.034) in anteroposterior CoP displacement. Furthermore, there was a significant difference between soccer compared with volleyball (P=0.001) and basketball (P=0.02) groups regarding mediolateral sway and sway area (P=0.003 and P=0.03, respectively) when they performed the test with their eyes open. A significant difference occurred between the soccer and volleyball players concerning anteroposterior and mediolateral sway (P=0.002 and P=0.04, respectively) and sway area (P=0.004) when they performed the test with their eyes closed. Conclusion: Given the necessity of maintaining a good balance in sports, volleyball coaches should design practices that reduce players’ reliance on visual information. These practices should strengthen their proprioceptive abilities through an increased challenge to their proprioceptive senses.

The effect of sports-metrics volleyball training on the landing error scoring system in female volleyball players(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Background : Excessive repetitions of the landing and jumping task are a key risk factor for lower extremity injury (specially ACL) in female volleyball players.
Aim: this study investigates the effect of Sports-Metrics Volleyball Training (SMVT) on landing technique in female volleyball players.
Materials and Methods : The participants of this study were 25 female young volleyball players and randomly divided into training (TG, n=13) and control groups (CG, n=12). The TG performed SMVT for 18 sessions, and the CG performed their regular training. Landing error scoring system (LESS) test were used for assessing landing errors. SPSS (version 25) was used to analyze the statistical data ( P <0.05).
Results : The results of the data analysis showed a significant improvement ( P =0.01) in LESS in TG (from 8.62 to 5.54), but no significant changes in CG the LESS ( P =0.62, from 8.00 to 8.23). Eighteen sessions SMVT reduced the landing error by 35.73% in the TG.
Conclusion : Base on previous research the SMVT reduces lower extremity injuries and the results of this study showed that SMVT significant improvement the landing technique. Therefore, performing SMVT is recommended for female volleyball players because it is effective in both preventing injuries and improving landing technique.
Designing Sports Player’s Valuation Indices (Case Study: Volleyball Players)(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
The purpose of the present article is to design indicators and variables that represent the value of volleyball players. This research method is applied, which was done in a quantitative and qualitative way. The research tool was a semi-structured interview with experts in the field of player valuation. In this research, the statistical population included all the experts and specialists in human resources and financial management issues in sports, and also volleyball experts. The sample size included a number of volleyball sports experts who expressed their ideas to determine the variables. A total of 60 variables were extracted, of which 40 are quantitative indicators and 20 are qualitative indicators. These indicators are not only effective in the selection of players, but can also determine the price and final value of the players.
Elucidating the Structure and Critiquing the Effects of Social Loafing in Volleyball Teams
حوزههای تخصصی:
This review article elucidates the structure and critiques the effects of social loafing in the team sport of volleyball. Drawing upon existing theories, opinions, and research, this review addresses the conceptual framework and factors influencing individual and group behaviors in sports environments, particularly volleyball. These factors include team cohesion, leadership styles, communication, interdependent tasks, and individual motivation. An examination of the research methodologies and article formulations, as well as meta-analyses in academic databases like PubMed, Google Scholar, and PsycINFO, indicates that the predominant approach in studies on this phenomenon is deductive, with survey strategies employed through observational studies and interviews with players and coaches using questionnaires. The findings of this review, on one hand, present and analyze theories and models explaining social loafing behaviors in sports environments and teams, including the processes and dimensions of the emergence (and growth) of social loafing and its impact on individual aspects and team performance in volleyball. On the other hand, it highlights key points and related solutions for future research directions in volleyball, including strategies and interventions (by coaches and team leadership) aimed at reducing social loafing, enhancing cohesion, and improving group dynamics in volleyball teams, ultimately leading to improved team performance.
