چکیده
مارتین لینگز از معدود خاورپژوهانی است که از مسیحیت به اسلام گرویده است. یکی از مهم ترین آثار وی، کتابی است با عنوان محمد(ص) بر پایه کهن ترین منابع. وی در این کتاب به بررسی زندگی پیامبر اعظم(ص)پرداخته و گزارش نسبتاً جامعی در این زمینه ارائه داده است. این کتاب، شرح حال برخی صحابه مشهور و نقش و جایگاه آنان را نیز به تفصیل بیان کرده است. تأملات روش شناختی و محتوایی زیادی درباره کتاب مطرح است که یکی از آن ها، «نقش علی(ع)در مهم ترین جنگ های عصر نبوی» است. پژوهش حاضر با استفاده از روش تحلیل تاریخی و بر اساس سنجه های روش تاریخی، به نقد و بررسی این بخش از کتاب پرداخته است. یافته های تحقیق نشان می دهد که مارتین لینگز با گزینش بدون منطقِ برخی گزارش ها، عدم توجه به همه شواهد و منابع موجود، نادیده گرفتن برخی گزارش ها و بزرگ نمایی گزارش های دیگر و سرانجام تحمیل پیش فرض های خود بر تاریخ، عملا از اصول و معیارهای پژوهش تاریخی فاصله گرفته و تقریری ناقص از نقش علی(ع) در این جنگ ها ارائه کرده است.Criticism of Martin Lings' View on the Role of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (A. S) in the Most Important Battles of the Prophet's Era
Martin Lings is one of the few orientalists who converted from Christianity to Islam. One of his most important works is a book titled: Muhammad: His Life Based On the Earliest In this book, he considered the life of the great prophet and presented a relatively comprehensive report in this regard. This book has detailed the biographies of some famous Companions along with their roles and positions. There are many methodological and content based reflections about the book, one of which is the role taken by Ali (A.S) in the most important battles of the Prophetic era. The present research has reviewed this part of the book relying on the historical analysis method of research. The findings of the research clarify that Martin Lings has practically distanced himself from the principles and criteria of historical research due to selecting some reports without logic, not considering all the available evidence and sources, ignoring some reports and overstating other reports, and finally imposing his own assumptions on history. He has consequently presented an imperfect account on the role of Ali (A.S) in these battles.
