Volunteers are valuable resources for sports organizations. Most of the sports organizations need to identify and employ the volunteers simultaneously in order to continue their activities. The present study made an effort to identify the requirements and functions of ambidextrous management of sports volunteers. Considering this aim, the meta-synthesis research method was used to carry out the study. More specifically, based on the process of the meta-synthesis research method, at the first stage, 312 papers were identified by searching the relevant databases. At the second phase, 55 papers were selected by screening the identified papers. Finally, the model of the study was developed by analyzing the selected papers. The model involved five ambidextrous requirement categories including the managerial, organizational, physical, strategic values, and motivational categories. Moreover, it comprised three ambidextrous function categories including empowering measures, opportunity-creating measures, and motivating measures categories. The sports managers can focus on the ambidextrous management requirements and the ambidextrous management functions including the empowering measures, opportunity-creating measures, and motivating measures in order to use the ambidextrous sports voltmeter management system and to exploit these human resources to achieve the goals of their organizations.

INTRODUCTION: Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), as the biggest non-governmental organizations in Iran's social system, needs to develop the concept of social responsibility. The current study was conducted to develop a model for the social responsibility of the Red Crescent Society by emphasizing on volunteers’ participation in disasters. METHODS: A qualitative approach (Grounded Theory method) was designed to define related components. The sample population included experts and volunteers in the Red Crescent Society. The sampling method was purposeful and 22 volunteers were selected based on theoretical saturation. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview, and data analysis was conducted based on paradigm model explanation. FINDINGS: Based on data analysis, causal conditions consist of 9 main categories, 32 sub-categories and 76 concepts; contextual conditions consist of 6 main categories, 18 subcategories, and 77 concepts; 2 main categories, 8 sub-categories and 33 concepts for intervening conditions; the strategies consist of 11 main categories, 37 sub-categories and 148 concepts, and finally, the results consist of 9 main categories, 12 sub-categories and 52 concepts. On the base of extracted data, a paradigm model of the social responsibility with an emphasis on the participation of volunteers was designed. CONCLUSION: The social responsibility of the Red Crescent Society is a comprehensive issue and has different legal, ethical, public, national, economic and social aspects which should be considered in planning of this organization for disasters.

INTRODUCTION: The present study was conducted in order to compare the organizational indicators of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) with other National Societies. To this end, the number of volunteers, income and costs of the IRCS were compared with other National Societies in Africa, America, Asia, Europe, Central Asia, and Middle East & North Africa (MENA). METHODS: In this descriptive-comparative study, data were collected from the data bank and online reporting system of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Finally, data were analyzed in Excel- 2016 and SPSS -24 software. FINDINGS: Based on the findings, from 2016 to 2020, compared to other National Societies, the average of IRCS volunteers has always been higher. The income of the IRCS is higher compared to that of National Societies in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and MENA and lower compared to the National Societies in America, Europe, and Central Asia. In terms of cost, IRCS incurred higher costs than African and MENA National Societies and lower costs compared to National Societies of America, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, and Central Asia. CONCLUSION: According to the results, it can be concluded that although the income and costs of the IRCS are lower compared to most of the National Societies, the number of volunteers is more, which shows the human capital of IRCS and is necessary to use this potential appropriately.

INTRODUCTION: The aim of the current research was to design a competency model for volunteers to be used in the IRCS and Volunteers’ Organization. METHODS: This research has a mixed approach and was conducted in two qualitative and quantitative phases. The first phase was done using grounded theory and the next phase was based on a researcher-made questionnaire. A total of 11 people including professors and experts of the IRCS who were knowledgeable and experienced about the subject were studied using purposeful sampling through semi-structured interviews. Data was analyzed by Maxqda-2022. Then, a researcher-made questionnaire was prepared using the indicators obtained from the qualitative section and given to a number of experts in the IRCS (140 people). Data was analyzed using Smartpls3 and SPSS-26 software. FINDINGS: According to the findings in qualitative section, causal conditions consist of 2 main categories and 4 subcategories; background includes 1 main category and 2 sub-categories as well as central phenomenon 4 main categories and 20 sub-categories; also, intervening conditions 2 main categories and 4 sub-categories; and the strategies 2 main categories, 5 sub-categories, and finally the consequences are composed of 3 main categories and 3 sub-categories. The results of the quantitative analysis also emphasize the positive and meaningful relationship between each of the strategies and the competence of the volunteers, which means that each of these strategies can be effective in designing and developing the competency model of the volunteers. CONCLUSION: The results indicated that the competency of RCS volunteers requires various factors such as mental image at the community level and the culture of meritocracy at the level of the IRCS and Volunteers’ Organization. In the following, the results and its consequences can be observed for the volunteers, IRCS, Volunteers’ Organization, and finally for the community, beneficiaries and the affected people. All of which depend on the use of appropriate strategies to design the competency model of IRCS volunteers.
