Comparison of emotional intelligence, general health and physical health in nurses working in psychiatric wards and other wards of hospitals(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Due to the great importance of health in the nursing profession, it can be potentially stressful for them. The aim of this study was to compare emotional intelligence, general health and physical health in nurses working in psychiatric wards and other wards of hospitals. The present study was descriptive and causal-comparative. The statistical population of the present study was all nurses in Ardabil in the first half of the year 1400 that 50 nurses working in psychiatric wards and 50 nurses were selected by simple random sampling. Bar-Ann's Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (1980), Goldberg & Hiller's General Health Questionnaire (1972) and Scott and Clovi's Physical Health Questionnaire (2003) were used to collect data. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). The results showed a statistically significant difference between the two groups of nurses in the psychiatric ward and other wards in the variables of emotional intelligence (F = 9.85and P<0.01), general health (F = 24.22 and P<0.01) and physical health (F = 14.77 and P <0.01). Therefore, according to the results of the present study, it is suggested that education of emotional intelligence, general health and physical health components be included in the in-service training program of nursing students both as in-service training courses for employed nurses and as a course unit. Efficiency and effectiveness of the level of nursing services and empowerment of nursing students, increase the satisfaction of patients and their families from nursing services and also improve the level of community health.

The effectiveness of mindfulness-based stress reduction intervention on cognitive avoidance of students with test anxiety(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of mindfulness-based stress reduction intervention on cognitive avoidance of students with test anxiety. The research method was quasi-experimental with a pretest-post-test design ad a control group. The statistical population included all Meshkinshahr students who were referred to school counseling centers. Among them, 30 people with test anxiety were selected by purposive sampling. Data collection tools were test anxiety questionnaires (Abolghasemi et al., 1996) and cognitive avoidance (Sexton and Dogas, 2008). The experimental group received a mindfulness-based stress reduction program (John Kabat-Zayn) for 8 weeks (one week of a 2-hour session). The collected data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance. The results showed that mindfulness-based stress reduction intervention significantly reduced cognitive avoidance in students with test anxiety (P <0.001). According to the present study, the use of mindfulness-based stress reduction intervention in the pre-exam period can be effective in reducing the cognitive avoidance of students with test anxiety.

The aim of this study investigation to  the mediating function of rumination in the relationship between social support, psychological hardiness, and intolerance of indecision with corona anxiety. The present study was a descriptive correlation with equation structural analysis. The sample of that choose in Ardabil city, in which 300 people participated in the research online and through virtual networks. Purposes: The purpose of this study was to determine the epidemiology of coronavirus anxiety and the demographic factors related to it in Qazvin, Iran. Method: The method used in this study was descriptive-survey. Its statistical population included all Qazvin citizens in the spring of 2020. A total number of 1167 participants were recruited by convenient sampling and via an online questionnaire distributed on social media. They answered the demographic features and corona disease anxiety scale (CDAS) questionnaires.Their data were imported into the statistical software SPSS 25 and analyzed using the descriptive and inferential statistical tests like frequency test, percentile frequency, and Kruskal Wallis. results: The results of the analyses showed that the prevalence of coronavirus anxiety among Qazvin citizens was 13.54%. There was no significant difference between coronavirus anxiety level and its related factors in different “gender” and “educational background” groups. But still, in different “age” and “marital status” groups, a significant difference was found. Discussion: The results of the current study show that as people grow older,coronavirus anxiety level and its related factors increases. Conclusion: it can be concluded that coronavirus anxiety level and its related factors is higher among the older people when compared with the younger ones.
