چکیده
اشیاء و آثار هنری هر دوره می توانند راوی تاریخ و سبک زندگی مردمان آن دوره باشند. ازجمله این اشیاء قلمدان است که کارکرد و جایگاه مهمی در متن زندگی اجتماعی و فرهنگی ایرانیان دوران قاجار داشت. ازاین رو مسئله این پژوهش واکاوی نقش قلمدان در متن زندگی اجتماعی و فرهنگی ایرانیان در عصر قاجار است، اینکه چگونه می توان از طریق بررسی جایگاه و کاربرد قلمدان های لاکی در میان اقشار مختلف جامعه ایران، بخشی از تاریخ و سبک زندگی مردمان آن دوران را روایت کرد. آنچه با کنکاش در گزارش ها و شواهد تاریخی به آن پرداخته می شود. طی دوران قاجار به شکل قابل توجهی سبک زندگی ایرانیان باسواد و صاحب منصب با قلمدان پیوند می خورد. از بعد اجتماعی قلمدان بیش از هر چیز نمایانگر طبقه اجتماعی میرزاها بود. از سوی دیگر قلمدان به شکلی نمادین در سپهر سیاسی قاجار نشانی از شأن و اعتبار و مقام بود؛ جز هدایای سلطنتی نفیس و در بالاترین سطح نشانه صدارت بود؛ اما هرچه به پایان دوران قاجار نزدیک می شویم با تغییر الگوهای فرهنگی و اجتماعی به خصوص تغییرات سبک زندگی، به تدریج این شیء ارزش ها و دلالت های نمادین خودش را از دست داد و به مانند بسیاری اشیای فرهنگی به تاریخ پیوست.The place and symbolic role of Qalamdan) pen box) in the context of Qajar social history

Among these objects is Qalmadan (pen box) had an important function and role in the social and cultural system of the Qajar era. During the Qajar era, the lifestyle of many Iranians, especially the literate class, was associated with Qalamdan. From the social point of view, Qalamdan represented more than anything the social class of the Mirzas, who were considered as the few literate people of Qajar era. Beyond that, the Qalamdan was a symbolic sign of the dignity and status of its owners in the Qajar political sphere. At the highest level, it was a sign of chancellery and was considered one of the exquisite royal gifts; But as we get closer to the end of the Qajar era, with the change of cultural and social patterns, especially the change in the lifestyle and cultural patterns of the society, this object gradually lost its value and symbolic significance and joined history along with many other cultural objects.
