The purpose of the present research was to examine the effect of cognitive-behavioral stress management on health locus of control and resilience in patients with coronary artery disease. This research was quasi-experimental with pre-test, post-test and control group. The statistical population of this research consisted of all patients aged 40-65 years with coronary artery disease who were referred to Kasra Hospital in Tehran in 2019. The sample was 90 patients who were selected from the research population and assigned into the two experimental and control groups. Data were collected using the Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scale and Resilience Scale. The research data were analyzed using Multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA). The results showed that the cognitive-behavior stress management significantly increased internal health locus of control and resilience in the experimental group (P<0.01). Cognitive-behavioral stress management may lead to a change in one's self-awareness and abilities through cognitive challenge, cognitive error detection and thought replacement, which in turn can increases individual’s sense of containment and cognitive control.

Objective: Cancer is one of the most essential health issues in the world and Iran which is usually associated with significant clinical and psychological discomfort in the optimal use of coping strategies. Therefore، the purpose of the present study was to analyze a structural model of medication adherence based on health anxiety, positive meta-emotion, and pain self-efficacy mediated by health locus of control in men with cancer. Method: The research was descriptive-correlational using structural equation modelling to test the relationships between the variables. The statistical population was men with gastrointestinal cancer in Golestan province referred to Shafi Hyrkan Cancer Patients Support Center. According to, 227 people were selected through targeted sampling. The research instruments included the Salkowski and Warwick Health Anxiety Inventory, Beer and Moneta Positive Metacognitions and Positive Meta-Emotions Questionnaire, Nicholas Pain Self-Efficacy questionnaire, Morisky, Ang, and Wood's Medication Adherence Questionnaire, and Wallston's Health Control Source Inventory. Data analysis was performed in LISREL software version 8.71. Findings: The results showed that health anxiety, internal health locus of control, and positive meta-emotion had a positive effect (P <0.005) and pain self-efficacy had a negative and significant effect on medication adherence (P <0.001). The source of internal health locus of control mediated the effect of pain self-efficacy and positive meta-emotion mediated the medication adherence positively and significantly (P <0.005). Conclusion: Health anxiety, positive meta-emotion, and pain self-efficacy are correlated with medication adherence and affect medication adherence mediated by health locus of control.

Aim the aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of time perspective treatment on health-related quality of life and Health Locus of Control for patients with Type 2 diabetes with sexual dysfunction. Methods: the current research method was Semi experiment and its design was pre-test post-test with the control group. The statistical community of this study formed all patients with Type 2 diabetes with sexual dysfunction visiting the Persian diabetes clinic in Mashhad in 2024. 30 of these people were selected by targeted non-random sampling and and replaced in two experimental and control groups randomly. The experimental group underwent time perspective treatment for 6 sessions of 60 Minutes, and the control group underwent a waiting list. Health-related quality of life tests (1992) and Health Locus of Control Elston et al. (1978) were used to collect data in both pre-test and post-test stages. Raw data were analysed by the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) test in SPSS 24 software. Results: the results showed that after controlling the effects of pre-test, there was a significant difference between the average post-test scores of the two Test and control groups in variables on health-related quality of life and Health Locus of Control of patients with Type 2 diabetes with sexual dysfunction. Conclusion: time perspective treatment affects health-related quality of life and Health Locus of Control for patients with Type 2 diabetes with sexual dysfunction.
