چکیده
اندیشه های افلاطون خاستگاه بسیاری از مسائلی است که امروزه به اشکال وصورت های گوناگون درعالم معاصر نیز شاهد طرح چندین باره آنها هستیم. در این میان دیدگاه های او درباره عشق که در رساله های مختلف باقیمانده از او طرح شده است موضوعی است که از جنبه های مختلف و در نسبت با تاریخ تفکر و تمدن غربی مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفته است. کوشش افلاطون برای تحلیل عناصر غیرعقلانی حیات آدمی که در دوره او نیز در کانون توجه قرار داشته اند و تلاش برای قرار دادن آنها تحت نظام عقلانی ای که درصدد پی ریزی آن است، منجر به ارائه تفسیری متفاوت از عشق شده است. عشق در پروژه افلاطونی به عنوان یکی از مبانی و مبادی حرکت به سوی شناخت خیر حقیقی و عالم مُثُل معرفی می شود که هدف آن به دست آوردن زیبایی راستین است و در این مسیر عشق و فلسفه، فیلسوف و عاشق یکی هستند. در این نوشتار ابتدا کوشش شده است تا ضمن بررسی محاوره مهمانی، با تشریح نقش و اثرگذاری اندیشه های افلاطون در شکل گیری آموزه های مسیحی درباره عشق، تفسیرها و ارزیابی های مفسران از این محاوره ارائه شود. سپس با بررسی روایت آریستوفانس از خلقت انسان، ابعاد و زوایای مختلف این روایت به ویژه در ارتباط با امکان دستیابی به وجوه مشترک میان فرهنگ های متفاوت براساس اسطوره ها و وصول به بینشی متفاوت از «دیگری» مورد بحث و تحلیل قرار گرفته است.A Re-reading of Plato’s Symposium; With an Emphasis on the Role and Status of the “Other” in Aristophanes’ Narrative
Plato’s ideas are the origin of many issues that are repeatedly discussed in various forms in the contemporary world. Among these, Plato’s views on loveو are a subject that has been evaluated from different perspectives. Plato’s engagement with the analysis of the non-rational constituents of human life, which were also of paramount interest in his period, and his striving to subsume them under the rational order he aimed to construct, culminated in the presentation of a differentiated exegesis of love. In the Platonic framework, love is introduced as a fundamental element and initiating principle for the progression towards the apprehension of the true Good and the realm of Ideas. The telos of this progression is the acquisition of true beauty, and in its pursuit, love and philosophy are inextricably linked, such that the philosopher and the lover become unified. In addition to analyzing the Symposium, this article proceeds by detailing the role and influence of Plato’s ideas on the development of Christian teachings on love, and concludes with a presentation of various commentators’ interpretations and evaluations of the dialogue. Subsequently, the study delves into Aristophanes’ narrative of human creation, exploring the diverse dimensions and facets of this account, especially concerning the potential for establishing shared values across different cultures through mythology, and achieving a distinct perspective on “the other.”
