چکیده
پژوهشگران گوناگونی درباره آیین مهر به پژوهش پرداخته اند و مقاله ها و کتاب های مختلفی در این زمینه به زبان های مختلف در سال های مختلف به قلم این پژوهشگران به رشته نگاشته درآمده است. بااین حال این آیین پر رمز و راز هنوز نیز مسئله پژوهشی پژوهشگران مختلف است و از زاویه های مختلف به آن می نگرند. یکی از کتاب های تازه قلمرو مهرپژوهی کتاب Images of Mithra است که انتشارات دانشگاه آکسفورد آن را در سال 2017 به بوته نشر سپرده که بر آیین مهر یا میتراییسم دگربار از چشم انداز شمایل شناسی پرتوی تازه افکنده است. نگارنده در این مقاله به بررسی این کتاب می پردازد.Iconography of Mithras from Surkh Kotal to Bourg-Saint-Andéol
Many researchers have researched the ritual of Mithraism and various articles and books have been written in this field in different languages in different years by these researchers. However, this mysterious ritual is still the research issue of different researchers and they look at it from different angles. One of the new books in the field of Mithraism studies is the book Images of Mithra, which was published by Oxford University Press in 2017, and sheds new light on the religion of Mithraism from the perspective of iconography. The author reviews this book in this article.
