چکیده
دو رویکرد متافیزیکی به مسئله پیکان زمان وجود دارد که ناشی از دو تلقیِ متفاوت هیومی و غیرهیومی از قوانین طبیعت است. هدف مقاله حاضر این است که استدلال کند این دو رویکرد به مثابه دو برنامه پژوهشی، به رغم اختلاف بنیادیِ و مسائلی که هر یک درگیر آن هستند، در نهایت ما را به سمت این مسئله اساسی هدایت می کنند که تبیین مسئله پیکان زمان نیازمند شناخت ساختار فضازمان در کیهان اولیه است. دو رویکرد متافیزیکی به مسئله پیکان زمان وجود دارد که ناشی از دو تلقیِ متفاوت هیومی و غیرهیومی از قوانین طبیعت است. هدف مقاله حاضر این است که استدلال کند این دو رویکرد به مثابه دو برنامه پژوهشی، به رغم اختلاف بنیادیِ و مسائلی که هر یک درگیر آن هستند، در نهایت ما را به سمت این مسئله اساسی هدایت می کنند که تبیین مسئله پیکان زمان نیازمند شناخت ساختار فضازمان در کیهان اولیه است.An Appraisal of Two Philosophical Research Programs on the Problem of Time's Arrow

This paper contends that these approaches, despite their differences and inherent challenges, ultimately converge on a common goal: to explain time's arrow, we must comprehend the structure of spacetime during the universe's early stages.
