چکیده
در نوشتار پیش رو سعی خواهیم کرد تا ضمن ارائه شرحی از «چیستی» جغرافیای تاریخ به این امر بپردازیم که جغرافیای تاریخی در طول سال های اخیر چه تغییراتی را به خود دیده و ،اساساً، آیا آنچه که امروز از مفهوم جغرافیای تاریخی فهم می شود، همان است که در گذشته فهمیده می شد یا خیر؟ از همین روی، در دو بخش سعی خواهیم کرد تا ضمنِ ارائه تعاریفی از جغرافیای تاریخی نزد قدما و معاصران به مقایسه آن ها بپردازیم. فهم جدید از جغرافیای تاریخی که نزد جغرافی دانان آلمانی و انگلیسی وجود دارد، علیرغم تفاوتِ زیادی که فهم قدما از این مقوله داشته، دارای پویایی بسیار فراوانی ست که می تواند عینیتی گسترده را از برای این مفهوم فراهم آورد تا مخاطبان این رشته با مقوله ای کاربردی، علمی، عینی، پویا و فراگیر—در برابر مقوله ای ایستا و ذهنی—سروکار داشته باشند. در نگر ما جغرافیای تاریخی نه مقوله ای ایستا و از یادرفته از برای درک جای نام های جغرافیایی که نظام دانشی بسیار پویاست که کمینه کارکرد آنْ ابراز پاسخی درخور به مسائل مرزی، هویتی و تاریخ ما و گامی مستحکم برای تحکیم مناسبات ملی ایرانیان خواهد بود.Historical geography from two perspectives: An introduction to the importance of historical geography around Iran's historical issues
In this article, we will try to provide a description of the "what" is the historical geography and discussing a bout changes in historical geography in recent years and, basically, whether what is understood today from the concept of historical geography is the same. Was it understood in the past or not? Therefore, in two parts, we will try to compare the definitions of historical geography among the ancients and contemporaries. The new understanding of historical geography that exists among German and English geographers, despite the great difference that the old understanding of this category had, has a lot of dynamics that can provide a wide objectivity for this concept so that the audience of this field with a practical, scientific, objective, dynamic and comprehensive - to deal with a static and subjective category. In our view, historical geography is not a static and learned category to understand the place of geographical names, but a very dynamic knowledge system, whose minimum function is to express an appropriate answer to our border, identity and history issues and a solid step to strengthen the national relations of Iranians.
