A Study of the Opinions of the Commentators on the Story of Jonah $ and its Application to the Old Testament
The story of Hazrat Yunus $ is one of the fascinating stories of the Holy Quran which has been quoted with different quotations in different Islamic texts, including narrations, commentaries and the Old Testament. This article, in an analytical-descriptive way, seeks to purify His Holiness from the false accusations that are leveled against him in some texts; Therefore, while confirming the subscriptions, its differences will be criticized. The result: Younes $ or shortly before the torment is removed from that people, he is angry with his people and goes to the sea; Or when he was informed that the torment had been removed, he did not return to them; And he did not notice the faith and repentance of his people. Convinced that his people could not be guided, he committed the "first leave" and left them. But with the repentance of the people, God, by creating miraculous scenes combined with temptation, elevates him to the position of the righteous and places him among the righteous. From the meaning of "Kazem" and "Makzoom" it follows that the Imam was at the exit of the fish or whale under the breathing hole and due to the aerobic nature of the Imam's whale, he could use the outside air and survive.
