A comparative study of women's problems and personalities in two plays: Shadow written by Rosa Jamali and Language - Wild Raspberries written by Naghmeh Samini, using Lucien Goldman's sociological literary analytical method
In the 20th century, with the ideas of George Lukács, Lucien Goldman, Bakhtin and Koehler, the sociology of literature grew and evolved. Since then, constructive criticism studies the sources and the process of birth and development of a work, for this reason it is also called "embryology" of the work. The theory of "formative constructivism" is based on the assumption that literary creation has a collective worldview, which is characterized by the coherence of its constructions with the mental constructions of social groups. To use this method, three categories of author's worldview, social class, text structure and social construction should be studied. And the author's literary works should be related to the fundamental structures of social and historical reality. Based on this theory, the two plays "Shadow" written by "Rosa Jamali" and "Wild Raspberry Language" written by "Naghmah Samini" are analyzed in a comparative manner in order to study the issues of women in the nineties from the perspective of the two female playwrights, to clarify which one was more familiar with the problems of women in society, to what extent they tried to show them, and to what extent they gave more appropriate ways to solve the problems. The aim is to identify the issues and problems of women with a sociological approach. This research, while introducing the concepts of Goldman's formative structuralism criticism in sociological criticism, evaluates these concepts in the two plays under study. The results of this research show that in terms of the overall social reality, the play Shadow can involve a larger number of women because women in the 1990s were more involved in economic issues and gender inequality; but in the play Wild Raspberry Tongue, the problems revolve around political situations; situations that made the safe life of the woman in the play unsafe. This research was conducted using a descriptive-analytical method in a documentary manner, explaining the theory and application of Goldman's developmental constructivism.
