Divorce is one of the most major stressors in life . has potentially negative consequences for mental and physical health. So, One’s ability to cope with divorce breeds in more general health. the focus of studies is more concentrated on the effects of divorce on children and women, while the consequences of this phenomenon on men are regrettably neglected. researches showed that divorced men are at highly significant risk for early death based on the cumulative number of years that men lived as divorcees. hypertension is mainly known as a consequence of distress among divorced men. A limited number of heterogeneous researches have concentrated on the experience of divorce in men. However, they are heading for more negative consequences and sometimes the positive consequences are neglected. to eliminate these shortcomings, the Scoping review method will be used for running an exploratory study on the current heterogeneous literature and It will be useful for future research

Researchers believe that separation and divorce are the most important stressful events that can happen in life. Therefore, divorce is a complex and painful process that leads to changes in different areas of life and requires coping strategies. This is despite the fact that more studies have focused on women and children after divorce, and men's divorce has been neglected. The present scoping review seeks to investigate, identify, and plot the main concepts relating to men's divorce and its dimensions, domains, impacts and factors based on the main references and evidence. The scoping review method was used to search electronic databases for relevant articles. Of the 3025 abstracts initially identified, after screening both abstracts and full texts, 26 studies were selected for inclusion in this review. After abstracting key information from each study, a content analysis was conducted. Five themes were identified from the content analysis: 1) Demographic, 2) child custody, 3) Psychological factors, 4) attachment style and 5) Coping strategies. This study explained and identified the men's divorce components, its results can reduce the negative effects of divorce on men.
Structural Equation Modeling of Marital Adjustment with Early Maladaptive Schemas Considering the Mediating Role of Marriage Styles in Men(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Objective: The present study aimed to model the structural equations of marital adjustment with early maladaptive schemas considering the mediating role of marriage styles in men. Methods: The research method was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population included married men from the general population in districts 2, 7, and 11 of Tehran in the first quarter of 2022. A total of 300 men were selected as the research sample using purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Marital Adjustment Questionnaire (Busby et al., 1995), Young Schema Questionnaire (Young, 1994), and a researcher-made Marriage Styles Questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson's correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling with SPSS-24 and AMOS-24 software. Findings: The results indicated a good fit for the model linking marital adjustment with early maladaptive schemas and marriage styles. The final model fit indices showed a negative and significant relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital adjustment. Additionally, marriage styles mediated the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and marital adjustment. Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that since marriage is one of the significant life decisions, focusing on early maladaptive schemas and pre-marital education can enhance marital adjustment, improve marriage styles, and sustain relationships, thereby increasing the marital quality of life.
Consequences of Online Extramarital Relationships from the Men's Perspective: A Qualitative Study(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Objective: The aim of this study is to qualitatively analyze the consequences of online extramarital relationships from the perspective of men. Method: This research was conducted using a qualitative approach, employing content analysis. Based on the principle of theoretical saturation, twelve men participated in this study. Semi-structured interviews were used for data collection, and MAXQDA software was used for coding and categorizing the data. Findings: The consequences of online extramarital relationships among men can be classified into two main categories and five subcategories. The results indicate that hiding the relationship while maintaining marital life, public disclosure, divorce, and separation are among the consequences of online extramarital relationships from the men's perspective. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study highlights the complex dynamics of online infidelity among men in Mashhad, Iran, revealing key themes such as relationship concealment, marital dissatisfaction, and the impact on trust and family stability. The findings underscore the importance of understanding cultural and individual factors in the context of extramarital relationships and provide a foundation for future research on the psychological and relational consequences of online infidelity.
Strategies and Consequences of Non-Marriage among Men: A Grounded Theory Study(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزههای تخصصی:
Objective: The aim of this study is to examine the strategies and consequences of non-marriage among single men. Methods and Materials: The study was carried out using a qualitative approach and grounded theory methodology. The study population consisted of men whose age ranged between 33 and 45 years, considering the average age of marriage for men in the city of Kazerun in 2023 was 30.9 years. All participants were residents of Kazerun County in Fars Province. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling based on inclusion/exclusion criteria until theoretical saturation was reached (15 participants). Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's (1998) grounded theory approach, including open, axial, and selective coding. Findings: In the open coding phase, out of 232 identified codes, 33 open codes related to strategies and 56 open codes related to consequences were extracted. These codes were categorized into different concepts during axial coding. Finally, in the selective coding phase, the main categories and related outcomes of non-marriage were identified. The most significant strategies for not pursuing marriage included improving economic conditions, enhancing mental and physical well-being, developing alternative relationships, and seeking emotional or financial bonds. On the other hand, mental and psychological consequences, objective consequences, and environmental consequences were among the major outcomes associated with prolonged singlehood in men. These included negative emotions such as depression, isolation, wasted time and energy, and economic and social problems. Conclusion: This study revealed that the decision not to marry among men is the result of a combination of psychological, social, cultural, and economic factors that influence individual choices. Based on the findings, it is recommended that social and cultural policies aimed at supporting youth and facilitating marriage are essential. Moreover, identifying and thoroughly examining cultural and social barriers to marriage could help reduce the rate of singlehood and increase the willingness to marry among young people.
