Investigating the Role of Spiritual Orientation on Tourists' Morale with the Mediating Role of Spiritual Well-being(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

In modern eras, travels with spiritual motivation have been accompanied by significant growth. The present study is aimed to investigate the role of spiritual orientation on the morale of tourists with the mediating role of spiritual wellbeing. In terms of purpose, the present study is applied research, and in terms of method, it is a descriptive research and a survey and correlational research. The statistical population in this study includes tourists and travelers to the sights of Tehran. The statistical sample size of the study was obtained using the Morgan table, as 384 individuals were selected using the convenience cluster sampling method. The data collection instrument is Allport’s Religious Orientation Questionnaire (short form), Lemon and Ann Wangheim Tourist Morale, and Spiritual Well-being Scale by Ellison. The questionnaire reliability was verified using Cronbach’s alpha and composite reliability. Its validity was verified using convergent validity and content validity by the opinion of experts regarding the study topic. SPSS and AMOS software were also used to determine the correlation and data analysis. At a 95% confidence interval, spiritual orientation and spiritual well-being positively and significantly affected tourists’ morale. Also, the mediating role of spiritual well-being in the relationship between spiritual orientation and tourists' morale was confirmed.

Developing a Model for Entrepreneurial Marketing Planning for Tourism Development in Innovative Iranian Start-up Companies

The purpose of this study is to design and develop a marketing planning model for the development of tourism industry in start-ups and innovative Iranian companies. This industry, which is one of the most dynamic economic activities of the present era, plays an important role in sustainable local development. The research method in this research is applied. It is also a type of field analysis because the data collection tool is a questionnaire and the researcher has collected information through the respondents. The statistical population of this study is all the officials of the executive bodies in relation to the tourism industry and employees and private companies in this regard. Due to the infinity of the statistical population and its large size, cluster sampling is available and the sample size is 14 people. The results of the study were analyzed through version 10 of Maxqda software. In the results, causal variables include environmental attitude, economic and environmental conditions, competition, tourism planning and social capital.

Scrutinizing the Role of Tourism Industry on Reducing the Housing Unsustainability in Informal Settlements (Case study: Manoochehri neighborhood in Hamadan)

Today, tourism has become a highly successful and profitable industry in the world, especially in developed countries. Hamadan province in Iran has a lot of tourist attractions. According to statistics released by the Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization in the province, there are over 1831 historical and cultural recorded works in Hamedan province. Therefore, by investing in the tourism sector, the province can be turned into a tourist destination, helping to create jobs and increase people's income. This research is an applied one, conducted by field and observation methods. Thus, tourism can be considered as a rescue tool for sustainable urban development, especially in marginalized areas. In this research, the effect of tourism industry on decreasing housing unsustainability will be studied in one of Hamedan's marginal neighborhoods, Manoochehri neighborhood, emphasizing on sustainability components. Using a researcher-made questionnaire, the researcher analyzed the extent of each of the components to answer the research questions and, through the SWOT table, identified the strategy of intervention in the neighborhood to reduce the incidence of unsustainability and, in the end, considering the strategy and the results of the questionnaire, it has come up with the necessary strategies.

The Impact of English Speaking Proficiency of Hotel's Staff on Attacting Tourists in Qeshm Island

The hotel industry in Qeshm Island is rapidly expanding. An important component in the hotel industry is the human resource. Tourists do not just come for the facilities and attractions, they want to be treated right and well and that is why a good command of the English language is always regarded as an asset for personnel in the tourism industry. This study was conducted to study and analyze the impact of one of the English skills, i.e., speaking of staff in hotels on attracting tourist in Qeshm Island. In order to so, data was collected from 25 foreign tourists in a hotel as Marina Hotel, regarding their expectations and perceptions of their stay about personal qualities of the hotels’ staff in different positions. The results obtained from the expectations of the guests indicated that the role and importance of the ‘English language proficiency’ in the tourism industry is relative to job function. ‘English language proficiency’ is more expected from those who often come into direct face-to-face contact with hotel guests such as the reception staff and it is more expected for the hotel management personnel as well. For other hotel staff, such as food & beverage and housekeeping staff, other qualities are expected more than ‘English language proficiency’ by hotel guests.

Analyzing the role of government in the management and planning of tourism crisis; a case study of the COVID-19 crisis

The  tourism planning  and  management is a collective action in which different actors of governmental and non-governmental organizations and institutions are involved. It is necessary to manage this phenomenon both during normal and crisis times. One of the most important actors in the field of tourism management is the government, which is responsible for facilitating and regulating this domain. But the phenomenon that has now negatively affected the tourism industry in Iran and the whole world is the Coronavirus crisis. The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of government in managing the impact of this crisis on the tourism industry. And to identify the effective factors that the government can carry out to save the tourism industry during and after the Coronavirus crisis. The main question of this research is to investigate the extent to which the government can manage the consequences of the Coronavirus crisis on Iran's tourism industry. To this end, in a qualitative method, attempts have been made to answer the research questions via a semi-structured interview. A number of managers and employees (8 persons) of tourism-related institutions in Iran were interviewed. The results of the research show that the government must first have an accurate estimate of the amount of losses caused by the Coronavirus crisis in the field of tourism. And then, by identifying areas that are more or less damaged, consider tax exemptions for them. Also, providing cyberspace and its infrastructure for the prosperity of the tourism is another useful measure of the government to support the tourism industry in the face of the Coronavirus crisis.

A Survey on the Complex Aspects of COVID-19 in Pleasure and Commercial Touristic Destinations: A Comparative Case Study in Business Level(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

Although the prevalence of COVID-19 pandemic and the worldwide periodic lockdowns, and travel restrictions have heavily damaged tourism destinations, however some theorists believe that the channels and intensity of adverse effects of COVID-19 are not even in different tourism destinations and it may depend on the tourism form that the destination is endowed with. The purpose of this research is to fulfill a comparative survey between two different tourism destinations that enjoy two different tourism forms, including pleasure tourism (Ganjnameh region) and commercial based tourism (Lalejin region) in Iran and try to explore the different complex aspects of COVID-19 effects on tourism industry and compare sustainability of both tourism forms. In order that, we apply Grounded Theory (GT) model and relay on qualitative data gathered by face-to-face interviews with 40 participants who are engaged in tourism related businesses in sample destinations. In according to the results, this study critically derives 4 different aspects of complexity of the situation arisen from corona virus pandemic on tourism sector in Ganjnameh and Lalejin including: resilience strategies and sustainability, change in tourist behavior, change in the tourism industry, and aggravating factors. In addition, the results showed that changes to tourism as a result of COVID-19 is complex and uneven in two different tourist destinations. Moreover, we realized that the economic statues of Ganjnameh region which is widely depend on pleasure tourism is more vulnerable to unexpected tourism crises compared to the Lalegin region, where the economics of a big bulk of habitants depends on commercial tourisms and handicrafts. Therefore, the commercial based touristic destinations looks more resilient and sustainable in comparison to pleasure tourism formed destinations. This study released valuable information about current statues and future concerns about tourism industry and offers suitable policy implications to cope with COVID-19 effects during and after Corona crisis.

واکاوی اثرات نامتقارن ریسک سیاسی، نرخ ارز و نرخ تورم بر توسعه صنعت گردشگری در ایران(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

گردشگری به عنوان یکی از صنایع رو به رشد در جهان شناخته می شود. بر پایه گزارش سازمان جهانی گردشگری پس از سوخت، مواد غذایی و محصولات شیمیایی، صنعت گردشگری بزرگ ترین بخش صادرات در جهان می باشد. صنعت گردشگری دارای مزایای بالقوه برای رشد اقتصادی بوده و توسعه آن برای بسیاری از کشورها، امری ضروری به نظر می رسد. بنابراین درک عوامل تعیین کننده و ارائه راهکار جهت توسعه صنعت گردشگری، امری مهم تلقی می شود. بر این اساس، هدف از مطالعه حاضر، تبیین و بررسی اثرات عوامل کلان اقتصادی و سیاسی نرخ ارز، نرخ تورم و ریسک سیاسی بر توسعه گردشگری با استفاده از رویکرد اقتصادسنجی خودرگرسیونی با وقفه های توزیعی غیرخطی (NARDL) طی دوره زمانی 1379-1400 در کشور ایران می باشد. یافته ها حاکی از آن است که شوک مثبت نرخ ارز، هم در کوتاه مدت و هم در بلندمدت، موجب افزایش توسعه گردشگری شده؛ درحالی که شوک منفی نرخ ارز موجب کاهش آن شده است. در مورد نرخ تورم و ریسک سیاسی نتایج متفاوت با نرخ ارز می باشند، به طوری که شوک مثبت ریسک سیاسی و نرخ تورم، هم در کوتاه مدت و هم در بلندمدت، موجب کاهش توسعه گردشگری شده است، در حالی که شوک منفی ریسک سیاسی و نرخ تورم، موجب افزایش آن شده است. همچنین جهت بررسی استحکام نتایج از روش اقتصادسنجی خودرگرسیونی با وقفه توزیعی چندکی (QARDL)  استفاده شده است. نتایج هر دو روش با هم سازگار است.
