Decreasing qualitative aspects of residential environments is a real problem in recent public housing of Kerman. This article is concentrated on surveying the impact of in-between spaces on residential environments quality (REQ), to evaluate different kinds of it and to determine interrelation of two main components: residents individual characteristics and characteristics of in-between spaces. Levels of in-between spaces include empirical-aesthetic, performance and environmental characteristics to determine degrees of residents satisfaction (RSAT). Eighteen selected components of in-between spaces quality (ISQ) assess the RSAT degrees in three residential environments of Kerman. Needed data obtained from structured interviews with residents and observation checklists. A direct relationship found between RSAT and ISQ in all three surveyed residential environments. The REQ index is highly and positively correlated with satisfaction of the three levels of in-between spaces and residents individual characteristics such as ownership and residential period.

There is a consensus among housing experts and policy makers that there are not enough resources for government alone to address growing urban housing challenges in many developing countries. Consequently, a paradigm shift from government provision to partnerships between the public and private sectors is advocated. This study exامینed the prospects and challenges of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in housing provision in Ogun State Southwest Nigeria. Data were derived from the review of official records and interview enquires. Findings show that Public-Private Partnership in housing in the study area is based on the joint venture approach between government agencies and corporate commercial private property developers. So far, attention has been on the provision of housing for high-income earners, while the challenges of insufficient numbers of housing units and housing affordability among low-income earners have not been addressed. The key challenges militating against Public-Private Partnership in housing are inadequate supply of land by government and housing finance, high cost of building materials, graft as well as the exclusion of low-income people from the PPPs. Given the huge housing supply deficit in Ogun State, it is argued that the future success of PPP is contingent upon addressing these challenges and the involvement of organizations that represent low-income people in the institutional framework of the PPPs.

This study is a field research that aims to determine the extent of green open spaces that serve as neighborhood parks in Housing Public Company Panakkukang, which consists of three areas: Toddopuli, Tidung, and Tamalate. Population in this study, is the third of the areas. The selected sample is Tamalate, arguing that the area is in the middle and is central to the whole Housing Public Company Panakkukang. Data collection tool used is the Global Positioning System. Data analysis techniques, qualitative analysis that compares the comparison theory / standard SNI 03-1733-2004. Standard Housing in Urban Environmental Planning with the reality on the field. Based on the results and discussion, it is known that the area of green open space in the area of Housing Public Company Panakkukang Makassar city in general is not in accordance with the provisions of the extent of green open space required in SNI 03-1733-2004.
