Renewable Energy
حوزه های تخصصی:
Expanding use of renewable energies (RE) around the world is a critical mission to reach to global environmental policies. Largest share of global energy mix relates to deployable and carbon-intensive fossil fuels. So, it is necessary to create proper incentives for investors to invest in RE in order to move toward low carbon economy. In this regard, one of the implemented policies is imposing tax on using deployable energies which includes tax on both energy consumption and motor vehicle transportation. This paper investigates impact of environmental tax policy on investors’ behavior for 13 leading selected developed and developing countries during the period 2004-2016. Based on economic theory, investment, particularly in capital-intensive energy industries would have a long gestation period. To capture this feature and evaluate dynamic relations of investments in RE, a partial-adjustment dynamic model is applied and estimated using Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) method. The results show that imposing tax on fossil fuel energy consumption and transportation systems, in particular that use fossil fuels, has a significant negative and positive impact on investing in RE, respectively. Also, empirical results demonstrate that there is a significant negative relation between interest rate (IR) and Investments in Renewable Energies (IRE).
Techno-Economic Assessment Power Supply in Offshore Platform by Renewable and Conventional Source(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
Technical and environmental challenges resulted from an off-design running condition of processes on a platform is an important issue. The weakness of strategies to stop or decrease the amount of the greenhouse gas emission production rate in the Persian Gulf is another important matter of concern which is intensively increasing. Recently, modern methods of energy generation from available renewable potentials near offshore platforms are suggested in the literature. Integration of renewable energy converters with offshore oil and gas platforms can solve both problems with machinery and environment to an acceptable extent. In this study, the economics of an offshore complex installed in the Persian Gulf is subjected to two different power generation systems. The first case defines the present condition in which the total power demand of the complex is supplied by burning the associated extracted natural gas on board the platform in its thermal power plant. The second case considers a wind farm located near Bardekhun in Bushehr province to be connected to the complex power network and shares its renewable source generated power with the platform. The economics and relative emission production of both cases are compared. Wind speed average and wind turbine power generation are considered having uncertainties. Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) method is used to consider those uncertainties in outcomes. The second case is found obviously more beneficial however there are some conservative assumptions included due to a shortage of data and limitations which makes it more attractive.
A Mathematical Model for Multi-Region, Multi-Source, Multi-Period Generation Expansion Planning in Renewable Energy for Country-Wide Generation-Transmission Planning(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)
حوزه های تخصصی:
Environmental pollution and rapid depletion are among the chief concerns about fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal. Renewable energy sources do not suffer from such limitations and are considered the best choice to replace fossil fuels. The present study develops a mathematical model for optimal allocation of regional renewable energy to meet a country-wide demand and its other essential aspects. The ultimate purpose is to minimize the total cost by planning, including power plant construction and maintenance costs and transmission costs. Minimum-cost flow equations are embedded in the model to determine how regions can supply energy to other regions or rely on them to fulfill annual demand. In order to verify the applicability of the model, it is applied to a real-world case study of Iran to determine the optimal renewable energy generation-transmission decisions for the next decade. Results indicate that the hydroelectric and solar power plants should generate the majority of the generated renewable electricity within the country, according to the optimal solution. Moreover, regarding the significant population growth and waste generation in the country’s large cities, biomass power plants can have the opportunity to satisfy a remarkable portion of electricity demand.

The 21st century Nanotechnology has the potential to make a huge impact on sustainability; but to achieve this potential, Nanotechnology is all about getting more function on less space. In other hand, Nanotechnology is one of the most extremely important components in sustainable development. It has the potential to reduce the environmental impact and energy intensity of structures, as well as improve safety and decrease costs associated with civil infrastructure. So, nanotechnology it can one of the most extremely important component for sustainable architecture. In this research we would like to answer below questions: Can nanotechnology be developed in a sustainable manner? How nanotechnology be developed in a sustainable manner? In this Paper, first we brief describe about sustainable architecture and nanotechnology, then we shows nanotechnology it can achieving the goals of sustainable architecture. We propose a new strategy of nanotechnology to achieve sustainable development. Finally, we present a new model for nanotechnology to achieve sustainable development. This work, presents the theory of analytical methods and the analytical approach has explanatory.
