The Evaluation of Using Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) Facilities in Developing EFL Among Islamic Azad University Practitioners: The Case of Computer Literacy(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

The present study investigated the university practitioners’ attitudes towards using computer assisted language learning (CALL) in teaching English language at Islamic Azad universities of Khuzestan Province. This study was also to examine the English as foreign language (EFL) MA and PhD teachers’ computer literacy and its effects on using CALL facilities in English classrooms. The participants of this study were 135 university teachers at the Islamic Azad Universities (i.e., 12 Branches). The research instrument was a questionnaire extracted from Shin and Son (2007) in 5-point Likert scale. Findings showed that that there was lack of technological equipment for using CALL.

The Impact of Hospital Information System on Nurses' Satisfaction in Iranian Public Hospitals: the Moderating Role of Computer Literacy(مقاله علمی وزارت علوم)

This study aimed to investigate the impact of the hospital information system (HIS) on nurses' satisfaction in Iranian public hospitals and to examine the moderating effect of computer literacy. The study population consisted of nurses working in public hospitals in Iran. A sample of 385 Iranian public hospitals was surveyed and a total of 1912 questionnaires were collected over 9 months. The analytical method used to empirically test the proposed hypotheses was the SEM technique using SmartPLS3. Results showed that all four variables of nurses' attitude, system quality, information quality, and service quality had significant positive effects on nurses' satisfaction with HIS. The findings also indicated that the effects of nurses' attitude, system quality, and particularly service quality increased on nurses' satisfaction with HIS by rising computer literacy, and only the effect of (computer literacy × information quality) was not significant on satisfaction. The use of FIMIX, CTA, and permutation test analyses is the innovation of the analysis.

Computer, Information and Multimedia Literacy among EFL Teachers: Construction and Validation of a Scale

Distance education pedagogy to be successful requires teachers with different levels of computer, information, and multimedia literacy. Teachers' computer literacy has caught considerable attention due to the great opportunities provided by modern technology for promoting language education. The present study explored computer, information, and multimedia literacy of 255 Iranian EFL teachers. To collect data, we developed and validated Computer, Information, and Multimedia Literacy Questionnaire for EFL Teachers (CIM-LQ for EFL Teachers), a five-point Likert scale questionnaire containing three sections to examine the participants' responses. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS software version 20.  The findings revealed that the level of EFL teachers' multimedia and information literacy ranged from low to moderate which necessitates improving teachers' training courses and preparing them for implementing technologies in real language teaching contexts. The findings have implications for both teacher education programs including both pre-service and in-service teacher training courses and EFL teachers' practice.

Relationships between Computer Literacy and Analytical Literacy with Creativity in Students: The Role of Gender Moderator

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between analytical literacy and computer literacy with creativity and with the role of moderating gender in high school students in secondary period in Guilan province. Methodology: The method of descriptive research of correlational type and the statistical society included the high school students in secondary period of Guilan province in the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021. The statistical sample consisted of 384 people (191 females and 193 males) who were randomly selected by paper and electronic methods. The tools for measuring variables included Abedi creativity test, researcher-made questionnaire of computer literacy and analytical literacy. Data were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis, multivariate regression and Z test. Findings: The results showed that the effect of computer literacy and analytical literacy on students' creativity is positive and significant. The effect of computer literacy by gender on creativity was also significant. Conclusion: The effect of computer literacy on analytical literacy has been positive and significant, too. The results can be used to predict creativity in male and female students.
