To investigate the effects of etymological elaboration, contextual pragmatic clues, and lexical knowledge on L2 idioms comprehension and production, 60 male intermediate level EFL students in three groups were selected. Each group was randomly assigned to one treatment condition. Group one participants were presented with the etymological explanation of idioms. In group two, the same idioms were presented in short, familiar contexts, and in the third group, the participants focused on the exact meaning of the constituent parts of each idiom. At the end of the experimental period, comprehension and production posttests of idioms were administered. Two one–way ANOVA procedures were used to analyze data. Results showed that the participants of the etymological elaboration group performed significantly better than the participants of the lexical knowledge group on idiom production. The differences between the means in all other comparisons were not statistically significant. These findings may have implications for teachers, learners, and syllabus designers.

The Effect of Role-Play through Dialogues vs. Written Practice on Iranian Intermediate EFL Learners’ Knowledge of English Idioms
This study aimed to investigate the effect of role-play through dialogues vs. written practice on Iranian intermediate EFL learners’ knowledge of English idioms. The question this study tried to answer is if role-play through dialogues vs. written practice has a significant effect on Iranian intermediate EFL learners’ knowledge of English idioms. To find the answer to the question, 30 intermediate level students from Iranian institute were selected. They were both male and female. Intermediate level students who were dealt for the current study were selected because they were learning all skills of language at the same time, they were familiar with words, and their English proficiency was enough to speak English and understand the importance of speaking. The students were selected administrating OPT which divided into two groups, one experimental group (Role-Play through Dialogues) and one control group (Written Practice). The results of this study revealed that the experimental participants performed better on learning idiom.
Here I will consider the Greek word “Dikaiosune” on the basis of the rather short etymological exploration by one of Plato’s other called Heraclitus. Apart from un-ended discussions and controversies about the nature and quality of etymological surveys of Plato’s Socrates in Cratylus , it is worthwhile to figure out and see how a figure such as Heraclitus wants to demonstrate and stablish the working and influence of “Dikaiosune” in the macro and micro universes otherwise it is an ordinary and petty notion. Plato’s other mentions ( Cratylus 412D – 413D) that where everything is in the flux Dikaiosune should function as an uppermost penetrating principle that can penetrate all moving and changing things in order to make a linkage and binding among all of them.
